Dear Editor,

Margaret Court, July 1964, Wikipedia, CC by SA 3.0 Netherlands

By not inviting Australia’s (not to mention the world’s!) greatest-ever women’s tennis champion in Margaret Court to this year’s Tennis Open, Tennis Australia insulted the 40% of Australians who – as is our democratic right! – voted against same-sex marriage (and abhor “fluid gender” pressure on vulnerable and immature young people)!

Then to top it off, Tennis Australia had some young woman (whose facial expressions when singing indicated she’d stubbed her big toe kicking her caterwauling tomcat) insulting the vast majority of Australians and when singing our national anthem before this year’s men’s final, sounding like a severely egg-bound stricken cockatoo, squawking her way home across the Simpson Desert to her nest!

Yours,

Howard Hutchins

  1. Not inviting Australia’s (not to mention the world’s!) greatest-ever women’s tennis champion to this year’s Australian Open was Tennis Australia’s, The Australian Open’s and the tennis world’s loss.

I almost cannot wait to see what the tennis world does when the first male-to-female transgender applies to compete in the woman’s division at one of the four major tournaments.
