Dear Editor,

A Greta Thunburg forebear, Viking, Erik the Red, grew barley to brew beer in Greenland 1,000 years ago, when it was then even hotter there than today, with but a smidgeon of today’s CO2 in the atmosphere. Why did not the world end then, Greta?

Scientific/historical fact: the Arctic Ocean was ice-free 100,000 years ago! So why is the polar bear not now extinct? And Greta, amid all the shock/horror of current Arctic Circle ice reduction (which has happened many times before), why has the overall polar bear population exploded by over 20% in the past 30 years or so?

With China, India and other “developing” countries virtually unfettered by the Paris Accord to keep building coal-fired power stations (the only truly cost-effective energy source), it would be idiotic to implement Joe Biden’s American economy- (thus military might!) destroying Green New Deal! Weaken America, and you weaken the Free World, with the Chinese Communist Party laughing all the way to the bank while building massive military capabilities (before plunging the world into a new, and even darker…Dark Age)!

Yours,

Howard Hutchins
