Biden Says Will “Win” in Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia

(Nov. 6, 2020) — At 10:51 p.m. EST, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden addressed the public from Wilmington, DE, saying he will win four key “swing” states and that he has a clear mandate from the American people to effect “change over more of the same.”

Biden was scheduled to speak at 8:00 p.m. but inexplicably did not appear.

Biden recounted how “24 hours” before, his campaign was “behind” in Georgia and Pennsylvania, while on Friday, he took the lead in both. By some counts, he holds 264 electoral votes; Trump has a reported 214.

Earlier on Friday, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger announced that a recount of all votes will take place.

The Trump campaign has filed legal actions in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Nevada alleging ballot irregularities. According to RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel on Friday afternoon, legal teams have been dispatched to four states, although she did not identify them.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m., U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito issued an order for all Pennsylvania elections officials to set aside ballots received after 8:00 P.M. ON Election Day in response to a Republican petition alleging that ballots received after that time violate the state’s election law.

As of Friday night, Newsweek reported, Biden’s lead in Arizona, which the AP and Fox News called for Biden on Tuesday night, has diminished to “under 30,000 votes” as counting continues in several counties of what were more than 600,000 ballots as of Wednesday evening.

Biden’s lead in Arizona was approximately 93,000 as of Thursday morning, Fox News reported. From the time the state was placed in Biden’s column by the AP and Fox, the Trump campaign has claimed it could likely be the victor after all legal votes are counted. Newsweek reported that Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs estimated that “173,000” statewide ballots have not yet been counted.

Biden said he and his vice-presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, held meetings with economic and pandemic advisers and that his ticket will work to unite the nation amid a high level of political rancor and disagreement. He said he will be president of “all Americans.”

“I hope to be talking about you tomorrow, and may God bless you, and may God protect our troops,” Biden ended his nine-minute speech in what has become his signature closing remark.

Biden did not reference Alito’s order nor the legal challenges the Trump campaign has filed.

According to Fox News’s Shannon Bream, Pennsylvania Democrats filed an objection to Alito’s order alleging that “PA GOP “offered no ‘evidence exist that county boards failed to follow’ the current directive from the PA Sec of the Comm to segregate/secure votes received after 8p election day.”

Earlier Friday night, John Solomon of JusttheNews reported that a software “glitch” was discovered in Antrim County, Michigan which changed approximately 6,000 votes intended for Trump to Biden. The same software is used by 46 other Michigan counties, according to state GOP chairwoman Laura Cox.

According to one of Trump’s personal attorneys, Jay Sekulow, the same software was used in “30 states.”

Solomon additionally reported that an FBI investigation has been launched into a Detroit election worker’s claim that elections officials instructed workers to “backdate” ballots received after November 3.

Republicans have also sued Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvaar over guidance she announced last month stating that an individual whose mail-in ballot was rejected could cast a provisional ballot on November 3.
