(Sep. 21, 2020) — Although co-host Steve Doocy said last Tuesday that the Fox News Channel could not confirm President Trump’s claim that he would be providing telephone interviews every Monday through the November 3 election, “Fox & Friends First” co-host Todd Piro announced at approximately 5:40 a.m. Monday that Trump will be interviewing with the follow-on morning program at 8:00 a.m. EDT.

When Trump made the surprise announcement last Tuesday, Doocy reacted with, “Well, that’s an exclusive!”  Toward the end of the wide-ranging interview, however, he declared that the Fox News Channel “could not confirm” Trump’s assertion about the weekly interviews which would take place on Monday mornings or, alternatively, on a Tuesday.

At 5:46 a.m. Monday, in a live appearance Doocy re-announced Trump’s upcoming call, stating that it would be Trump’s “first interview” since the passing Friday night of Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Trump has said he will nominate Ginsburg’s replacement in the coming days and that it will be a female.

In last week’s interview, Trump appeared during the 8:00 a.m. hour.  At 7:03 a.m., Doocy stated on F&F that the “Supreme Court” will be a topic of discussion.
