(Aug. 9, 2020) — 3:19 AM EDT – For the first time in more than four days, the lights are on without flashlights or the sound of the generator humming noisily in the background.  The Post & Email has been “off the grid” for more than four days after Tropical Storm Isaias arrived on Tuesday, causing extensive damage to power lines, internet connections, and cellular towers, and we obviously have some catch-up work up to do.

Please bear with us as we read through and respond to hundreds of emails, publish a backlog of editorials and discover what has been happening in the news.

For those who asked why the daily news alerts did not arrive as usual, the newsletter is not generated if new material has not been published since the last alert.
