PRAYER IS AN IMPORTANT KEY TO MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

(Jun. 2, 2020) — The idea and basic outline for this came to me in the early hours (about 4:30 a.m.) of May 29, 2020.  I am a devout Christ follower who very strongly believes in the power of prayer, a patriot, a veteran, and a solid believer in following the Constitution to the letter.  One of my favorite Bible verses is 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  This was written about the Israelites in the Old Testament under the old covenant (Mosaic).    Under the new covenant established by Jesus Christ it also applies to followers of Jesus (Christians).

I refer to this verse often in my writings as I believe it is significant if We the People want to see America once again be a great nation.  Today many American Christians, including some major denomination leaders, are so intent on being accepted by men they compromise their core beliefs (the teachings of Jesus) so they won’t be criticized by the media, the political ruling class, or their liberal families and friends.  Americans tend to worship false gods/idols such as athletes, actors/actresses, and musicians. Too many Americans, including way too many Christians, engage in idolatry.   Secular humanism says that every person has the right to decide for himself/herself what is right or wrong, that there is no single one-size-fits-all value system to be followed.  Abortion is considered by liberals to be a “woman’s right to choose,” a fetus is merely “a blob of tissue,” and abortion is the only option to resolve a pregnancy, that keeping an unexpected baby or giving an unexpected or unwanted baby up for adoption by people who will give it a loving home are not acceptable choices.

Liberals consider homosexuality to be an “alternate but equal” lifestyle to the Biblical standard of one man and one woman.  Islam is considered an “alternate but equal” path to Heaven as the cross.  Anyone having a Biblical view on any of these is accused of being a “closed-minded,” unenlightened bigot” and “hater” to be ridiculed, criticized, and ostracized from society.  In 1947 or 1948 the US Supreme Court took eight words out of context from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury, Connecticut Baptist Association.  The court had written because the state was trying to set requirements for worship.  Jefferson wrote back that the Constitution “created a wall of separation between church and state” that gave the church members the uninhibited right to worship as they saw fit.  A very liberal set of “justices” decided the restriction was on church members when the truth is that the restriction was on government.

Since that day any reference to Almighty God has been banned in any public forum.  That IS NOT what our founders intended.  Schools in that day used the Holy Bible to teach children to read.  I was banned from facebook for espousing Biblical standards in opposition to the site’s “community standards.”  Citizens are not allowed to be on leftist-controlled social media sites unless they adhere to the same political and religious (pagan or secular humanist) philosophies as those who own/operate online sites.  I hope this goes viral on facebook and other social media sites where I can’t post, not to benefit me but to benefit the nation and all Americans.  I don’t seek fortune or fame from this but rather, revival in this nation, revival that will restore the blessings of God that have been thrown away by liberal anti-God people.  Please share this everywhere you can.

THE PRAYER

O Lord, my Father and Creator of the entire universe and everything in it, my praise and my thanks I give you for the many blessings You have bestowed on me.  My Lord, hear my prayer for America.  I ask that your Holy Spirit renew His effort to turn the hearts of Americans to You.  Many need to be stronger in their faith, many others need to turn back to you as they have fallen away due to the wiles of satan, and many need to be brought into Your fold because they have never accepted Your Son, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior.  Father, I humbly ask that You have mercy on America; touch the hearts of all and draw them to You so that our nation can be saved from the ravages of satan and his agents.  I also ask that You send a revival, a “great awakening” that will dwarf all previous ones in numbers of people answering the call of God, that tens of millions of Americans will answer the call to repent, seek your face, and to turn from their wicked ways and see our land healed to once again become “a shining city on a hill” as once described by John Winthrop, as you intended for it to be.  I know I spent most of my life living in sin but You chased me down and helped me turn around and change my life.  I ask You to bring millions of others to the same point, that of repentance and giving their lives to Jesus.  I trust that You will daily provide what I need and that when I need You, You will always be there with a way out of any dilemma I find myself in.  Your mercy and grace go way beyond my ability to understand and I am very thankful You are able to forgive my past and accept my efforts to live better and to guide me to the point I am trying to attain. It breaks my heart to see that there are people who boo when the prospect of acknowledging You in their political platform is addressed.  It shows a disdain for You and Your creation that is unacceptable to many in the nation but some will vote for that party anyway, probably not realizing the wrath they are asking to be brought upon themselves and their descendants. I believe that our founders looked to You in a big way as they included in the Declaration of Independence the phrase “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.”.  Some people deny that our founders were followers of Jesus but it doesn’t take long to see that is false when looking at the quotes and writings of the founding fathers to see they were, indeed, believers.  Father, I also ask you to break any generational curse my generation has brought on the nation.  I repent for the combined sins of America, both individual and corporate, and further ask Your forgiveness and mercy upon the United States of America and on its citizens.   I ask these things in the name of my Lord and Savior, Your Son, Jesus Christ.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.
