(Nov. 5, 2019) — Something that you cannot just ignore is the fact that the technologies nowadays have made a huge jump in development. You are seeing various tech things everywhere. They are implemented into the things that you would never imagine before. For example, things like the marriage field are not expected to be too techy. However, if you take a look at how things are today in that industry, you will realize that it is just different. People are no longer appreciating marriage that much. And one of many reasons for that is the fact that you can marry online. You do not need much for that. Just get some information about yourself and the papers will be ready. Therefore, people start thinking that they can just divorce online as easily as the marriage was. However, they face a situation where they are required to do much more in that case. Sure, you can easily file for divorce online, but there are still some things you are required to do. Those are the actions aimed at making you feel better emotionally. So, when you get back to technologies, you can see that some divorces are caused by tech, too.

One of the worst things that you can have in a relationship is a social media addiction. There are many reasons why this is not the best thing. However, just the fact that you are so obsessed with something in a marriage is not the best sign. Therefore, it is important to know how that kind of addiction may ruin your relationship. And this article is here to help you out with finding what the bad things are about social media addiction in marriage. Here are some of them.

  1. Jealousy

One of the worst things about social media is the fact that you can follow the lives of other people. At the same time, that is what they were designed for. Therefore, it is hard to blame social media for that. It is more of a human’s fault. And that is something that we have to fix if we do not want to have constant problems. People who are obsessed with social media follow hundreds of people online. And they want to know how those lives are going. At some point that might get them to a point where they are jealous of a person they see online. There is nothing good in something like this, as you have a high chance that it may transfer to the relationship. Your spouse may start upbraiding you for not having something like that person from their social media website. Well, what you have to explain in that case is the fact that you should never trust everything that you see online. Those people only show their best moments. And rarely are you going to see what is going on in their lives. Because why would you post a sad post if you can show the world your new phone?

  1. Too much time online

Another problem that you may get if you or your spouse are addicted to social media is a situation where they spend too much time there. And when it is said ‘too much time,’ it means that they are constantly on their phone. Imagine a situation where you and your spouse are out for dinner and you want to have a nice talk, and they are online. Those are the situations that kill a good mood for the rest of the day. If that is the case for your marriage, make sure to have a talk with your spouse about that. They may not even notice how much time they are spending online all of the time. Try to explain to them that it is something that makes it hard to communicate with them and that it is killing the marriage.

  1. Not caring about anything else

The worst situation that you can get into is a case where your spouse does not even care about the real world anymore. That rarely happens, but if that is the case for you, it is time to start doing something. In that situation, a person will no longer be able to get out of the addiction that they got into. They will most likely only talk to you about those online friends and how they are doing. And that is where both points above will come up, too. It is the worst situation that you can find yourself in. It may even require some professional help, as that is indeed an addiction. And if you do not help them, they will not even understand that you are breaking up. The only thing that you will see is a Facebook post where they would say they are breaking up.
