(Aug. 18, 2019) — On this morning’s “Fox & Friends,” “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo announced she will be “breaking news” with investigative journalist John Solomon of “The Hill” regarding the ongoing probe as to the origins of the Trump-Russia “collusion” narrative which marred Donald Trump’s presidency for more than two years.

The show airs at 10:00 a.m. ET.

The investigation into “the investigators” was commissioned by the U.S. Justice Department and specifically delegated to U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut John Durham.

In 2015 or 2016, the FBI launched a counterintelligence investigation into the Trump presidential campaign on the premise that there were inappropriate and possibly illegal ties between Trump aides and Russian-government operatives. Those claims were found unsubstantiated by a follow-on 22-month investigation completed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team in March of this year.

House Democrats have been largely dissatisfied with Mueller’s findings, although they have emphasized that as for the “obstruction of justice” component of the investigation, Mueller’s team neither obtained an indictment of the president nor “exonerated him.”

On August 8, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler stated that his committee is conducting an inquiry with the purpose of impeaching President Trump.

Solomon began investigating possible wrongdoing on the part of the FBI and Justice Department in March 2017, as he told “Hannity” host Sean Hannity and others in interviews earlier this year.  He delved deeper after receiving a tip from two unidentified federal agents, he said, who informed him that the FBI engaged in politically-motivated activity prior to the 2016 election.

Bartiromo has hosted her show for just over five years. A fast-moving program focusing on current events and upcoming congressional hearings and proposed legislation, Bartiromo said she will also host Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) on the subject of firearms legislation in the wake of two mass shootings two weekends ago.

Solomon and fellow investigative journalist Sara A. Carter are frequent guests of Hannity, which airs at 9:00 PM ET Monday through Friday.

Several members of Congress had stated that former high-ranking officials at the Justice Department and FBI merit criminal prosecution and even imprisonment, although no arrests or indictments have yet been announced.

Hannity and Bartiromo often ask congressional guests whether or not the American people will see “accountability” for what appears to be widespread, unwarranted surveillance of then-Trump campaign aides and withholding of exculpatory material during the prosecution’s of at least one former advisor, George Papadopoulos.

Papadopoulos has been a guest on Bartiromo show on several occasions and is author of, “Deep State TargetHow I Got Caught in the Crosshairs of the Plot to Bring Down President Trump.”
