Words are Important; Truthful Words are More Important

“THE DECEIT IS MANIFEST”

(Sep. 11, 2018) — Well, now… is that not interesting and ironic?  Confirming the totally, completely, flamingly irrational and unhinged push by the liberals and Democrat Senators on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee to block the nomination of soon-to-be Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Brett Kavanaugh, the tactic of selectively altering documentary evidence to further their cause comes front burner.  Again.

I say “again” because, as faithful P&E readers know all too well, the alteration of documents, including, as but one example, U.S. Supreme Court published opinions, has long been a favorite tactic of, among others, the Congressional Research Service (see, e.g., here).  Now, we have a U.S. senator from California (imagine that…), with support from Planned Parenthood (nooo… really…??), getting in on the gambit.

Senator Kamala Harris – and/or her staffers, seemingly at her direction and plainly with her approval – recently did two things to alter what Judge Kavanaugh testified to at his confirmation hearing, thereby radically altering the response he was giving.  Both acts merely underscore how cunningly deceitful liberals and most Democrat politicians have become in their never-ending quest to demolish anyone and anything having to do with President Donald Trump.  Third Reich Minister of Propaganda Josef Goebbels, were he still alive, would truly be proud of their efforts.

First, faithful readers, click on the link in the first paragraph of this post above and the embedded edited video which Senator Harris “tweeted” out regarding Judge Kavanaugh’s “testimony” at his hearing.  Go ahead… I’ll wait.

You’re back?  OK, let us agree at the outset that words are important.  Let us also agree that, in referencing a case one of the senators had asked him about (i.e., Priests for Life v. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 772 F.3d 229 (D.C. Cir. 2014)), Judge Kavanaugh said: “It was a technical matter of filling out a form in that case.  In that case, they said filling out the form would make them complicit in the provision of the abortion-inducing drugs that they were, as a religious matter, objected [sic: objecting?] to.” (Emphasis added).

Stated otherwise, Judge Kavanaugh was repeating the position of the plaintiffs there, the Priests for Life.  He was not articulating his position that those who would complete a form relating to “opting out” of a contraceptive plan covered under the comically-labeled “Affordable Care Act” would be seen as complicit in providing abortion-inducing drugs.  The circumstance that the Priests for Life may have held that position does not morph that fact into a position espoused by Judge Kavanaugh.  By selective editing, the altered video made it appear that Judge Kavanaugh was stating his own opinion rather than only summarizing the position of the plaintiff in the case.

Second, read what Senator Harris then said of the edited video: “Kavanaugh chooses his words very carefully, and this is a dog whistle for going after birth control. He was nominated for the purpose of taking away a woman’s constitutionally protected right to make her own health care decisions. Make no mistake – this is about punishing women.”

Harris also chooses her words carefully, neglecting – no doubt inadvertently – to mention in her deceitful observation that the video had been intentionally edited specifically to start at a point later in Judge Kavanaugh’s sentence in order to make it appear that he was declaring that persons filling out a form prescribing certain drugs would make them complicit in abortions.

Third, to compound the deception, the edited video changed the lower case “f” in the word “filling” – as the written transcription of Judge Kavanaugh’s original words confirm – to a capitalized “F.”  The import of this change, of course, was to portray the Judge as beginning a new declarative sentence of his own with the word “Filling…,” instead of what was, in reality, the beginning of a referencing sentence: “In that case, they said filling….”  Thus, not only was the edited video image intentionally deceptive, so too were the words superimposed over the video image.  These may be seen as miniscule grammatical anomalies…, but they are not.

The deceit is manifest, at least for anyone willing to objectively read English.  And yet, deceit and hypocrisy have come to be not only core components of the expected tactics of the left and the Democrats, it must be conceded that they have worked well for them in the past.  Witness the fact that Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. – despite clear and convincing evidence that he was not in the past, is not now nor in the future will ever be a natural born citizen as contemplated by the Founders – successfully bamboozled the Congress, the Supreme Court and the electorate in order to become the Nation’s second Usurper-in-Chief, Chester A. Arthur likely being the first.

Moreover, with this edited video, perhaps Harris was experimenting by using it as a “practice run” for her own attempt at the presidency.  After all, if the Congressional Research Service can get away with altering the words of Supreme Court decisions in order to drive a desired result – confirming the presidential eligibility of any person, other than the issue of foreign diplomatic personnel or hostile-force occupiers, merely born in this Nation – why cannot a U.S. Senator try the same thing?  Wait… is that not what Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Marco Rubio also tried?

Hey, if all of those people can do it, why cannot Kamala Harris, born in Oakland, California to a Tamil Indian mother and a Jamaican father, do it?  And is this not close to the backdrop of the Wong Kim Ark decision?

The edited video might also explain why someone using a U.S. Senate computer recently accessed and viewed an article here at The P&E, penned by its intrepid Editor, raising the question of Ms. Harris’s own purported eligibility. Hint: Harris is ineligible.

At the end of the day, however, the most ironic part of Senator Harris’s “tweet” was its final sentence: “Make no mistake – this is about punishing women.”  That statement is true: her altered video and deceitful capitalization stunts – an “f” is not an “F” unless one is assigning a grade to Senator Harris’s edits, in which case either version will suffice – do nothing but punish the intelligence of women… and men… and boys… and girls… and dogs… and cats… and, well, just about any other sentient being.  I love the First Amendment, but Harris’s deceitful video turns it into bathroom tissue.  Sad, but not altogether unexpected coming from the unhinged.
