Hannity: “This is Obama’s Justice Department”

REPORT:  DOCUMENTS SHOW COORDINATION BETWEEN FORMER DOJ OFFICIAL AND RUSSIA DOSSIER AUTHOR

(Aug. 7, 2018) — In Tuesday night’s “Hannity” opening statement, host Sean Hannity reported on a lengthy article by The Hill’s John Solomon which stated that newly-released emails and documents show that Justice Department official Bruce Ohr was intimately involved in providing “misinformation” to the FBI from the now-infamous Trump-Russia dossier in the runup to the 2016 presidential election.

Solomon reported that Ohr was apparently working closely with former MI6 agent Christopher Steele, who was paid by Fusion GPS and the DNC to obtain opposition research on Trump in the form of the dossier.

Hannity also replayed part of his Monday interview with House Intel Chairman Devin Nunes, who said that “exculpatory evidence” is in the committee’s possession which should have been presented to the FISA court, which, based on the evidence it reviewed in the form of the dossier, granted four surveillance warrants to the DOJ and FBI  on former Trump adviser Carter Page.

The evidence remains classified, Nunes said, while publicly asking the White House to declassify all of the documents the committee has obtained from the DOJ over the last year.

“This should outrage every single American,” Hannity said at 9:07 p.m. EDT.  “They tried to steal, in the United Sates of America, a presidential election, and we have the evidence…”  He decried the “Obama Justice Department,” which he said was politicized in order to prevent Trump from winning the election.

Solomon reported Tuesday that Ohr reported directly to former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, who Trump fired on January 31, 2017 when she ordered her subordinates not to honor Trump’s initial “travel ban” temporarily barring individuals from eight countries from entering the U.S.

Yates signed “at least one” of the FISA court warrants granting surveillance powers to the FBI and DOJ.

Ohr’s wife Nellie worked for Fusion GPS on the opposition research.  Ohr has been stripped of much of his DOJ responsibilities as congressional committees carry on their investigations into wrongdoing within the DOJ and FBI in 2016.

At 9:15 p.m., Solomon and Freedom Caucus founder Rep. Mark Meadows were Hannity’s guests, during which Solomon promised to publish the documents cited in his article on Wednesday.

“The government tried their best…to defeat and then undermine a president of the United States,” Hannity said to Meadows, who responded that Ohr was “working as a go-between” between the DOJ and FBI.  “W also have text messages that confirm that Peter Strzok was working with Bruce Ohr,” Meadows added, referring to the former deputy assistant director for counterintelligence who testified to two congressional committees last month.

“We’re just now starting to uncover how bad this was,” Meadows said of Ohr and Steele’s collaboration.

Nunes had said on Monday that Ohr would become increasingly significant in the committee’s ongoing investigation into FISA abuse and political influence within the DOJ and FBI.

The law firm Perkins Coie, which was deeply involved in the narrative provided to the public relating to the alleged procuring of Obama’s “long-form” birth certificate in 2011, is known to have paid Fusion GPS to obtain the opposition research on Trump.

A 5+-year criminal investigation found the birth certificate image to be a “computer-generated forgery,” a finding  the FBI and DOJ ignored.
