(Aug. 5, 2018) — The Post & Email has learned that a litigant in the courtroom of Las Vegas Eighth Judicial District Family Court Judge Sandra Pomrenze is hospitalized at a Veterans Administration (VA) facility with a very serious condition.

In accordance with an order issued by Pomrenze during an evidentiary hearing on July 27, Burke Hall, 57, was expecting the guardian ad litem for his two young boys, who live with their mother and who he has not seen since March, to schedule a home assessment so that he might begin to have visits with his sons and eventually obtain some type of custody.

First-hand observers reported that at that hearing, Pomrenze’s demeanor was in stark contrast to that of others she conducted in the case between Hall and his ex-wife, Vanessa Loftis, which involved a protracted divorce following the drowning death of their youngest child on August 3, 2015 at the age of 2½.

Hall is not a sole voice in protesting incompetence and corruption in the Las Vegas Family Court system and within child-protective services in general for alleged “legal kidnapping” of children.  Hall’s sons spent several months in foster care, where he said they were sexually abused by their two male foster parents.

A preliminary diagnosis was arrived at, Hall told this writer on Sunday evening, which necessitates medical isolation for a time may or may not be followed by more drastic measures.
