AS TO NUMBER OF TRUMP CAMPAIGN “INFORMANTS”

by Sharon Rondeau

FBI Director Christopher Wray is a Trump appointee and has been serving since August 2017

(Jun. 24, 2018) — Early Sunday morning, Fox News reported that although congressional investigators received a small document release on Friday of the thousands they have requested from the Justice Department, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes has issued a new “deadline” for the FBI to supply more information based on that release.

Nunes and his counterparts at the House Judiciary and Government Oversight & Reform Committees have been seeking up to a million pages of documentation to answer their questions about Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server when she served as Secretary of State; the FBI’s alleged use of at least one “informant” to the Trump campaign; and whether or not the DOJ and FBI abused the FISA law when they submitted applications for surveillance warrants on then-Trump foreign-policy advisor Carter Page.

The FBI has claimed that its counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign began in late July 2016, but evidence increasingly appears to show that the “infiltration” by an FBI-dispatched informant or informants may have begun much earlier. Nunes is seeking clarification to that timeline, among other key items.

Fox reported that the FBI provided Nunes with a “classified letter” answering the question of whether or not the “FBI utilized confidential human sources prior to the issuance of the Electronic Communication initiating that investigation.”

In late April, Nunes and House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy were allowed to view the Electronic Communication (EC), after which Nunes said he could identify no underlying “intelligence” used to launch the FBI’s probe into alleged Russian “collusion” with Trump campaign aides.

“…Nunes wasn’t satisfied with the FBI’s reply, and has demanded more answers — including an explanation of how many informants were used, and at what expense — by the end of the day Monday,” Fox reported.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte echoed the sentiment that more information should be provided to congressional investigators in a Sunday morning interview with Maria Bartiromo.

Goodlatte and Gowdy reportedly received a separate letter in which “the FBI acknowledged that it still has not fully complied with the subpoenas.”

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows also remains dissatisfied with document production thus far and, along with Gowdy and Nunes, has voiced the possibility of voting on Articles of Impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for refusing to meet their deadlines.

Rosenstein signed one of the warrant applications to surveil Page, Bartiromo reminded her audience during the interview with Goodlatte, asking, “Isn’t he a witness?”

Goodlatte, who is not seeking re-election in November, responded that he has asked Rosenstein to testify to the Judiciary Committee and agreed he is “a witness” who he believes can answer questions as to why “document production has been slow.”

Gowdy is also not on the ballot for November.

According to Bartiromo, Nunes wants the FBI to respond to his questions as to “how many” “informants” were deployed to the Trump campaign by the close of business on Monday.

  1. Another deadline will come and go and the cover-up of the mother of all crimes against American citizens and her Constitution will continue. If anyone needs a refresher on that crime, it is the one which allowed and assisted an ineligible, identity fraud con-artist to be installed as America’s putative president. The crime which gave America’s government and her military to the enemy. The crime in which every member of Congress either did/said nothing to stop it from happening and/or over the years right up until today, continued to cover for. The crime which is apparently too big to prosecute and certainly too big to mention sent all complicit, both parties and the Obama media, into a panic when the planned and promised after Obama cover of Hilary Clinton failed to be elected, and the “birther” Donald Trump became President.
Another excuse, another delay, another stall, or as Hannity would say, “tick-tock”……………….. on a clock whose hands never move.
