“THE DEEP STATE IS ABOUT TO BE EXPOSED”
by Sharon Rondeau
(May 18, 2018) — In Friday night’s FNC “Hannity” show, host Sean Hannity opened with a statement made by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper that a spy potentially implanted in the Trump campaign was “a good thing” if it brought to light alleged Russian “collusion” during the 2016 presidential race.
Hannity asked rhetorically, directing his question to Clapper, if there were “spies” looking at possible Russian connections within the Clinton campaign given that former MI6 agent Christopher Steele supposedly spoke with Russian sources about Trump’s alleged behavior while in Russia and alleged connections between Trump aides and Russian intelligence agents.
Steele’s 35-page product, used to procure surveillance warrants against Trump campaign short-term foreign-policy adviser Carter Page, is now known as the “Russian dossier” or “the dossier” and was funded by the DNC and Clinton campaign.
At 9:07 p.m. EDT, Hannity said that “the Deep State” is now regularly “leaking” information to friendly media, which he claimed will eventually expose the full scope of the “secret spies” the FBI used “to go after the Trump campaign.”
“The Deep State is about to be exposed,” Hannity said, after citing a Wednesday New York Times article which identified the counterintelligence operation against the Trump campaign as “Hurricane Crossfire.”
That article followed one in The Washington Post which reported that a “top-secret intelligence source” served as an informant to the FBI on the Trump campaign.
At 9:11 p.m., Hannity said he has “known” the identity of the “spy” for “over a week” but did not provide a name.
The Post reported that the source is “a U.S. citizen” and had worked with the CIA and FBI in the past.
Hannity said that as a result of the Justice Department’s leaking to the press, the person’s name has been in the media for a number of days.
