WEDNESDAY A.M., SACRAMENTO

(Mar. 7, 2018) — 11:20 a.m. EST – U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be speaking momentarily to the Alliance of California Law Enforcement in Sacramento, CA on immigration policy. Coverage of his remarks will be provided by the Fox Business Channel, Fox News Channel, and by KFDM TV.
Sessions’s visit to The Golden State is taking place on the heels of the news reported by Fox that the U.S. Justice Department, which Sessions heads, has filed a lawsuit against the state for its “sanctuary” policy for illegal aliens. Sessions is expected to discuss the lawsuit in his address this morning.
The lawsuit appears to have been prompted by three laws recently passed by the California legislature which limit or restrict contact between Californians, including law-enforcers, and federal officials such as ICE agents.
The Washington Post reported that the suit was filed just after 9:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday.
Sessions began his address at 11:28 a.m. EST/8:28 a.m. PST.
