AND EXPECTED RELEASE OF FISA MEMO

(Jan. 29, 2018) — Various mainstream sources are reporting that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has resigned from the embattled federal agency six weeks ahead of his planned retirement, during which it is expected he will receive a full government pension and benefits from taxpayers.
His status is now called “terminal leave,” according to The Washington Examiner.
In sharp contrast to other reports, Fox News reported Monday that McCabe was “removed.”
McCabe has reportedly been under investigation by the Department of Justice for possible violations of the Hatch Act stemming from his wife’s Virginia state Senate candidacy in 2015 and his handling of the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server.
More recently, McCabe’s name has been linked to a four-page classified memo written by the U.S. House Intelligence Committee which is currently under consideration to be released to the American public, possibly this week.
The Hill and other sources have reported that House Intel Committee members will be meeting at 5:00 PM today to discuss various matters, one of which is believed to be the release of the memo.
Also reported on Monday is that U.S. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is mentioned in the memo as having relied on the now-infamous “Trump dossier,” obtained for political purposes by the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign, to apply for a warrant to the secretive FISA Court to conduct surveillance on former informal Trump advisor Carter Page.
Reports in recent weeks have claimed that Trump has been seeking to remove McCabe and Rosenstein from their posts. Last week, The New York Times reported that in June, Trump considered firing Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller, III, a claim Trump denied while still in Davos, Switzerland attending the World Economic Forum.
The four-page classified House Intel Committee document, which was made available for review by all members of the House of Representatives, was reportedly reviewed on Sunday by FBI Director Christopher Wray. However, officials at the Justice Department have warned against its release, characterizing it as “extraordinarily reckless” and claiming the right for “relevant members of the intelligence community” to read it first.
