ALMOST $1.8 MILLION RAISED IN ABOUT SIX HOURS

(Oct. 2, 2017) — The chairman of the Clark County, NV County Commission has established a fund to assist the families of the victims killed and those injured late Sunday night while attending the final performance of a three-day music festival in Las Vegas.
Steve Sisolak is the chairman of the representative body and serves as commissioner of “District A” in Las Vegas.
As of this writing, approximately close to $1.8 million has been raised out of a goal of $2 million. The total rose from approximately $1.65 million as this report was prepared.
The GoFundMe page is indicating that it has been shared 92,000 times on Facebook as of 7:15 p.m. EDT.
As of the last update from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, 59 people have been killed and 527 injured from the assault carried out by Stephen Craig Paddock of Mesquite, NV at 10:08 p.m. local time on Sunday.
Paddock reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound as police closed in on his position on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort from which he launched his attack on the concertgoers.
