(Oct. 2, 2017) — NBC News producer Jesse Rodriguez has reported on Twitter that Pres. Trump will be speaking on the Las Vegas massacre which occurred at 10:08 PM Pacific time on Sunday night.
Multiple media reports say that at least 50 people were murdered and more than 200 injured when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire with what appears to police to be a fully-automatic machine gun from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel in close proximity to where the final night of a a three-day music festival was taking place.
CBS News White House reporter Mark Knoller has reported that as previously scheduled, Trump will meet with the governors of Kentucky, Mississippi, Maine and New Hampshire as well as with the prime minister of Thailand on Monday.
At approximately 7 AM EDT, Trump tweeted his condolences to all of those affected by the assault, which many are calling an act of terrorism.
Update, 10:31 a.m. EDT: John Roberts of Fox News has reported that ISIS is claiming responsibility for the mass killing.
