Reports: Knife Attack in Finland

by Sharon Rondeau

(Aug. 18, 2017) — Following on the heels of a double terrorist attack in Spain, The UK Sun has reported that a multiple-victim knife attack has occurred in the city of Turku in southwest Finland.

Those armed with knives are said to consist of “a group,” although, as with any breaking news story, there are conflicting reports.

CNN has reported that police have advised the public to avoid or exit the downtown area.

Political Insider is reporting that one suspect has been shot by police.

On his Twitter feed, Rebel Media journalist Jack Posobiec reported that a perpetrator shouted “Allahu Akbar!” before attacking.

One report states that a young boy and elderly woman are among the wounded, and a Finnish newspaper has reported one death.

Update, 8:40 a.m., August 19, 2017:  Media reports now say that two people were killed and eight injured in the Turku knife attack on Friday.  The suspect, a Moroccan citizen, is reportedly in the hospital with a leg injury inflicted by police during his apprehension.
