AT LINCOLN MEMORIAL

by Sharon Rondeau

(Jan. 19, 2017) — Live coverage of pre-inaugural events is being streamed by Breitbart TV via ABC News, having begun at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Earlier this afternoon, President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice-President-Elect Michael Pence laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

At 4:38 p.m., the United States Old Army Fife and Drum Corps was performing a medley of American songs, which was preceded by singer Sam Moore and chorus.

Prior to Moore, actor John Voigt gave an address which included remarks on his hopes for the Trump presidency. Trump will be sworn in at noon on Friday.

The all-day festivities have been termed the “Make America Great Again Celebration” after Trump’s campaign slogan.

According to news reports, the weather in Washington, DC is several degrees above normal and is expected to remain so on Friday.

Filler music played between presentations was a recording of the Rolling Stones performing several of their songs which to this writer appeared out of place and overly long.

At 4:53 p.m., Donald Trump and wife Melania were introduced to address the crowd, after which the Rolling Stones were played again.  Husband and wife walked out to stand at the base of the statue of Abraham Lincoln.  Waving to the crowd, the couple walked over to where family members were seated, with Mr. Trump saluting the Marine stationed there who saluted him first.

As darkness fell just before 5:00 p.m., the stage where four country musicians were performing was bathed in a pinkish light.

Three large screens projected the entertainers to the audience stretched far back over the grounds of the Lincoln Memorial.
