(Jul. 25, 2016) — A live feed of the opening of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia can be viewed here.

According to the DNC website, 4:00 p.m. EDT is the “gavel in” time.

Over the weekend, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was forced to announce her resignation given that emails released by Wikileaks on Friday show that she and other DNC operatives appear to have openly favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders during the primaries.

Protests were reported earlier on Monday outside of the Wells Fargo Arena carried out by Sanders supporters outraged at the Wikileaks revelations.

As of 4:08, no one had taken to the podium, but a preliminary visual presentation took place as the delegates assembled.  At 4:09, a man with a tall piece of equipment was briefly shown before the camera returned to the stage and the visual presentation resumed.

As Wasserman Schultz will not be chairing the convention, CNN and ABC commentator and former Al Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile has been chosen to do so, while Rep. Marcia Fudge will officiate.

At 4:10 p.m., the video screen showed the words “2016 Democratic National Convention” and a church choir of mixed a capella voices was introduced to open the session with the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

At 4:34, a boy soprano sang the national anthem.

At approximately 4:37 p.m., the live feed for this writer was interrupted.
