Fast-Track Will Surrender US Sovereignty To UN, Leave Southern Border Even More Porous, Violate U.S. Constitution‏

(Jun. 23, 2015) — Please read Dick Morris’s explanation of how Speaker Boehner and Senate Majority Leader McConnell, for the second time in two weeks, are intent on ramming the 800-page SECRET Fast Track Trade Promotional (TPP) and the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation through Congress, which very few Congressmen have even read. It is a bill that violates federal immigration laws (what the Republican leaders accused Obama of doing), that seriously damages the free enterprise system (what the Republican leaders accused Obama of doing), violates the U.S. Constitution (what the Republican leaders accused Obama of doing), and they are insisting on its passage before they will even will permit American citizens to read the bills (what the Republican leaders accused Pelosi of doing when she forced passage of Obamacare before anyone read it).

The Republican leadership is misrepresenting facts about the TPP and the TPA because they refuse to let the American people read it and are alleging it is necessary to pass the 800-page SECRET bills in order to participate in trade with 12 Pacific Rim countries including Mexico.  Those 12 Pacific Rim countries are desperate to trade with the U.S., and every U.S. President has had the authority to negotiate “Free Trade Treaties” with them and every country in the world without having the need to violate the U.S. Constitution, immigration law, and damaging the free enterprise system as Obama plans to do.  The TPA bill guarantees that Obama’s SECRET Fast Trade Treaties will surrender sovereignty to the UN and make it much easier for foreign manufactured products to be imported to unfairly compete with American businesses.

The bills that the leaders in Congress and Obama are preventing the American people from reading will permit millions of illegal aliens to enter the U.S. from Mexico, a country which already has over 15 million illegal aliens in the U.S., from the repressive Communist regime of Vietnam, from Brunei, Darussalam, Malaysia, Singapore, Peru, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand (with provisions in the unconstitutional law that will allow Obama to add other countries in the future at his sole discretion).  The Obama administration has already signaled that it would like to include the repressive Communist regime of China, the repressive Communist regime of Cuba, Putin’s repressive Russian regime, possibly Iraq currently being taken over by Iran, the repressive Socialist regime of Venezuela, etc.  The U.S. should be negotiating separate and distinct “Free Trade” treaties with each foreign country to ensure reciprocity in “Free Trade” and to elimination of unfair currency manipulation.

The Congressional leadership is betraying American citizens who voted for them and assumed they would prevent Obama from violating immigration laws, the U.S. Constitution, and stop Obama’s Socialist agenda.  The Republican leadership disregarded the demands of their fellow Republicans in favor of receiving substantial financial donations from the 180 corporate members of the US Business Coalition for TPP, who will benefit from low-cost unregulated illegal immigrants to work in their businesses that the TPP will bring into the U.S.   Those illegal aliens will be allowed to enter without requiring intelligence analysts to complete background checks on them to determine if they have terrorist ties.

The Republican leadership will be surrendering Congress’s constitutional authority to write federal immigration laws by passing the Fast Track Trade Promotional legislation.  It will leave the southern border of the U.S. even more porous than it is today and will eliminate all borders of the United States that immigration laws were passed to protect.   The new unconstitutional law will allow Obama to change immigration policy “at will” without Congressional approval—those proposed provisions in the Fast Track Trade Promotional legislation are unconstitutional and violate federal immigration laws passed over the 239-history of the Republic.

In order to deal with the millions of Americans who will be losing their jobs because of the Fast Track Trade Promotional Authority legislation, the second bill, the TPA, will be pushed for approval, because if it doesn’t pass, the TPP cannot be enacted.  The TPA should more appropriately be entitled the “Put all American Workers on Welfare Bill Because of the Fast Track Trade Promotional Authority Bill”.  The TPA is a $450 million/year welfare program specifically targeting millions of currently employed American workers and farmers who will definitely lose their jobs because of the 800-page SECRET Fast Track Trade Promotional legislation.  At Pelosi’s insistence, the TPA is going to be paid for by huge tax increases on small business—which will damage the free enterprise system.

The TPP legislation would allow Obama to recommend acceptance of all UN Treaties by only 51% of the US Senate’s vote.  A treaty like the UN Small Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which violates the 2^nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and had been previously rejected by the U.S. Senate, because it could not obtain 60% of the US Senate vote, even though it was rejected by the US Senate,  Kerry recently signed the UN ATT Treaty which violates the 2^nd amendment, assuming it will be approved by the unconstitutional TPP.   There will be no way to defend against another treaty like the destructive anti-business UN Climate Change Treaty, which would seriously damage the viability of many small US businesses, further damaging the free market system. Obama’s Trade Representative, Michael Froman, has pledged no agreement will proceed without “environmental governance” provisions:

…we will insist on a robust, fully enforceable environment chapter in the TPP or we will not come to agreement…our proposals would enhance international cooperation and create new opportunities for public participation in environmental governance and enforcement…the United States reiterated our bedrock position on enforceability of the entire environment chapter…

The 800-page SECRET TPP that the American people are being prevented from reading does not prevent a foreign country from currency manipulation that gives them an unfair trade advantage over the US.  Unfair currency manipulation continues to seriously damage “Free Trade”; unfortunately, since language has not been inserted in the Fast Track Trade Promotional legislation to protect the United States from currency manipulation—it is further damaging the free enterprise system.

The SECRET Fast Track Trade Promotional Authority is not primarily about “Free Trade;” it is primarily about changing federal statutory laws via expedited Congressional procedures that are unconstitutional.  There are many procedural rules that must be followed to pass a law, including but not limited to Senate cloture rules, by which bills require a 60-vote supermajority in order to be approved in the U.S. Senate.  The Fast Track Trade Promotional legislation does away with Congressional procedures required by the U.S. Constitution.  In particular, it eliminates the possibility of extended debate, the need to consider amendments, and the need for the 60-vote threshold in the Senate for any bills that fall within its scope.  Obama has again outfoxed the Republican leadership and is using Fast Track Trade legislation to pass portions of his Socialist agenda (including approval of the UN Climate Change Treaty and the UN Small Arms Treaty in violation of the 2^nd Amendment), creating controversial changes in federal statutory laws that would not be possible to attain with the current Republican Congress.  Fast Track Trade legislation is designed to change U.S. laws in violation of the U.S. Constitution which would be virtually impossible to change under normal Congressional legislative procedures.

Speaker Boehner and Senate Majority Leader McConnell have let down 104 million unemployed Americans by passing legislation that will bring in millions of illegal aliens from 12 Pacific Rim countries, including Mexico.  Those millions of illegal aliens will be given work permits by Obama without following the required step of having intelligence agencies of the U.S. to complete background checks on them to determine if they have terrorist ties.  Those illegal aliens will “unfairly compete” with Americans for scarce jobs and will be willing to work for much lower wages than Americans can possibly afford to do, undercutting fair wages.

Leaders of the Republican Congress should not pass SECRET 800-page bills that they won’t let the American people read before they pass them (following Pelosi’s lead of secrecy which they once criticized), leaders who will not permit Obama to repeatedly violate the U.S. Constitution, who will stop funding Obama’s Socialist programs, will not look the other way while Obama circumvents constitutionally- mandated procedures in Congress to pass legislation, and leaders who will not pass laws that violate federal immigration laws.   We encourage you to call your US Senator at (202) 224-3121 and tell them you oppose the TPP and TPA and that you want them to vote against it.
