“CONSTITUTIONALLY INELIGIBLE”

(May 26, 2015) — Memorial Day is that short but specific period of time set aside for the country to remember – as well as honor – those who have died in the military service of the nation. Whatever you do on that day, remember what it is about. Whether you raise a flag at your home, visit a local veterans’ cemetery or pay for a World War II vet’s meal at a restaurant – because he won’t be with us much longer – remember the meaning and purpose of the day.
Lamentably, far too many Americans have forgotten – or worse, consciously erased from their memories – the ultimate sacrifices offered up and paid by the military for the nation. And since a nation is nothing without its people, recall that those sacrifices were laid down not only for the country as tangible infrastructure, but for the country as a people. And laid down so that on Memorial Day, we could have the choice of (a) remembering, in one way or another, those who have given their lives for our benefit; (b) firing up the grill, throwing on some brats and downing a few cold ones; or, happily (c) both.
And while you remember those who have died so that you might own a grill, buy some brats and quaff your thirst, reflect on this as well: the nation that so many fought and died for no longer exists. The spectacularly multifaceted “way of life” that once flourished here, and the remnants of which we now so take for granted and for which so many died serving in the military, is being incrementally and intentionally dismantled.
The destruction of the nation’s foundations at the hands of the first Chief Usurper of the United States (CUOTUS) may be past the tipping point, but only time will tell. That is, of course, unless the greatest existential threat to our survival – global warming… oops, sorry… “climate change” – takes us out first. What “climate change” fails to accomplish in our lifetimes, the CUOTUS is intent upon finishing ASAP.
Bottom line: the Emperor was elected to a position for which he is constitutionally ineligible. Period. He was placed there by an electorate that would give even Lenin’s “useful idiots” a bad name. And while millions of these useful idiots (AKA, liberals and registered Democrats) blissfully embrace the Emperor’s siren call to leap over the cliff, he takes shelter and hides beneath a media propaganda umbrella that would do the Third Reich’s Joseph Goebbels proud.
Take any single one of the hundreds, if not thousands, of outrages perpetrated by the Emperor and his minions over the past six and one-half years and ask what type of coverage and editorializing Pravda on the Hudson, CBS, NBC and CNN would produce were the same act committed by a Republican.
This is not merely a double standard: it is mendacious hypocrisy masquerading as journalism; on steroids; fortified with a hit of crystal meth. Dick Cheney is right: this guy is, in fact, the worst chief executive the nation has ever endured. Bar none…. and that is saying a mouthful.
The Emperor’s genuflection was bad enough and the oh-so-presidential, but not-so-subtle “gutter gestures” he has offered up to Republicans (including vets like John McCain) only underscore the reality that the only class he ever had was in grade school… wherever that might have been. Indonesia? Mombasa? Honolulu? Who knows?
While P&E readers are here daily treated to some pretty talented commentators, there are some others as well. One such commentator, Kurt Schlichter at Townhall.com, today produced a particularly insightful and accurate indictment of the Emperor and his sycophants in an article entitled “Liberals Disgrace Memorial Day.” The article is spot-on. It should be read by every rational American who cares about the future of the nation.
So, while you should remember the true meaning of Memorial Day, you should also reflect on the fact that a lot of your countrymen – and perhaps even some of your neighbors – are useful idiots. And don’t forget there is another general election coming up. Yikes.
