(Apr. 27, 2015) — The leader of a nationwide pro-law enforcement movement is urging the Mayor of Baltimore, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, to step down from office and asking citizens across the country to show support for their local police departments.
“The mayor of Baltimore, just like any city leader, has a responsibility to help protect the citizens and community that they serve and keep it safe. It’s clear the Mayor of Baltimore failed in that capacity and should step down. You don’t give protesters such a wide berth that they’re allowed to damage property and loot businesses. It has been reported that she wanted the police to give the demonstrators space to riot, and that isn’t acceptable at all. There’s a clear difference between peaceful protest and rioting. I wonder if she knows the difference?” said Rally For L.E.’s leader Nohl Rosen.
Rosen also said that he’s requested others to not only urge that Rawlings-Blake step down from office, but also for citizens across the nation to stand by the law enforcement in this country.
“Police officers literally risk their lives every day to keep our community safe and it’s sad to see that they are under attack right now. They need our support now more and I want them to know there are good people like myself out there that appreciate the sacrifice they make every day for their community,” Rosen added.
