CLAIMS PROBLEM IS RESULT OF “GLOBALIZED INDIFFERENCE”

(Jul. 19, 2014) — Pope Francis has reportedly been involved in discussions with Obama about U.S. policy regarding the presence of illegal aliens in the country.
In March, the Pope met with Obama after having promised an “undocumented” child whose father is in an Indiana prison to “talk to” Obama about the alleged “suffering” of the child and others like her who were facing deportation of a jailed family member. The girl had traveled from California to Rome to deliver letters from other illegal alien children in similar circumstances.
The violation of law which caused her father to be arrested is described as:
Mario Vargas, father to Jersey and three other children, was arrested last summer for driving without a license. Shortly thereafter, he was charged and put in an immigration detention center in Tennessee. Though Vargas was released on bail Friday and is returning to Los Angeles, he still faces possible deportation.
Obama and Pope Francis met at the Vatican on March 27.
In late 2006, WND reported that illegals killed 12 Americans each day, often through motor vehicle accidents involving unlicensed, uninsured and intoxicated drivers.
NBC News reports that the Pope has declared that the U.S. must ensure that illegal alien children be “welcomed and protected” upon their arrival. Pope Francis reportedly denounced “racist and xenophobic attitudes” in regard to illegals’ arrival in the country in violation of federal immigration laws.
The Catholic News Agency reports that “Because of current practices and policies of many U.S. cities and states, and their harmful effect on human life and dignity, the bishops have stated that the status quo is immoral and have called for comprehensive reform of the immigration system. Their prescription for mending the system is to emphasize legality over illegality through the creation of legal avenues for migration and the extension of legal status and a path to citizenship to undocumented immigrants. This includes rigorous enforcement of the laws, to be sure, but also suggests a more comprehensive approach which reforms all aspects of the system. This remedy represents the most effective, humane, and practical approach to solving our immigration crisis.”
Cardinal Sean O’Malley and Pope Francis have stated that current “immigration” into Western European countries and the United States is “a massive tragedy” resulting from “globalized indifference.” In a June 3 article on both priests, The Daily Beast invoked the terms of “xenophobia” and “bigotry” to describe those opposed to violation of a nation’s borders.
Catholic Charities and Save the Children Foundation has been providing shelter for illegal aliens following their processing by U.S. Border Patrol agents, some of whom have become sickened after contracting diseases brought in by the flood of people primarily from Central American nations. On Thursday, ABC News reported that “The federal government is so overwhelmed by the current tide of migrants crossing the border it can’t provide basic medical screening to all of the children before transporting them – often by air – to longer-term holding facilities across the country.”
