“NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL”

May 30, 2014

Since early April, as campaign manager for Ben Rubenstein’s CancerSlayer fundraising team, I have been raising money to for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year blood cancer research drive. We’ve raised over $30,000 so far, with just three weeks left in the campaign – and there are several mini goals along the way that your help can assure we reach: $35,000 covers the direct cost of a bone marrow transplant that could save someone’s life, and $50,000 gets our team linked to a grant that will be used entirely for cancer research.

As you know, the LLS mission is to cure blood cancers. Until this campaign ends on June 14, that is my mission, too.

I am profoundly happy that Ben is alive and healthy eleven years after his final treatment – and that my daughter Amy is also alive and thriving. So is our friend Laura, whom we met during Amy’s treatment. But we are saddened that Ben’s friend Drew – his next-door neighbor when Ben was in the hospital – had complications similar to Ben’s, but lost his fight. Despite the huge advances in medical research and the wonderful blessing that so many now survive blood and other cancers, many people are still losing their fights, and much remains to be done.

Please donate to our team’s campaign and help us get closer to a world where all blood cancer patients are alive and living normal lives many years later.

We can’t bring Drew back. But we may be able to help the next Drew. No amount is too small. You can donate between now and June 14. All it takes is just one click.

Thank you very much!

My best wishes,

Paul Driessen
