A MOST “DISGRACEFUL, PETULANT AND VENAL TYRANT”

by Joseph DeMaio, ©2013

The “Emperor at 1600” has forbidden groups of World War II veterans from visiting the normally unstaffed memorial on the National Mall effective on Wednesday after a group on Tuesday moved the barricades and tape barring their entry

(Oct. 2, 2013) — OK, I have a lot of other things to do… don’t we all?  But the classless venality of the regime demands that some priorities need to change, so here we go again.

Yesterday, I penned for The P&E this piece regarding the disgraceful hypocrisy of the regime in ordering the World War II Memorial closed to WW II veterans who had traveled from afar to visit it, purportedly because of the “government shutdown,” while apparently still keeping the White House chefs on the payroll.

We now learn that the regime – and specifically, the White House and the Department of Interior – knew in advance that the veterans would be coming, but denied a specific prior request from Cong. Steven Palazzo (R. MS) to allow them to visit the memorial, despite the fact that they had been flown there from Mississippi by Honor Flight, a non-profit that flies vets to Washington D.C. without charge.  One wonders if the request had been made by a Democrat, the result would have been different.

We also now learn – from National Park Service Ranger Carol Johnson, on site at the memorial – that the White House directly, through the White House Office of Management and Budget, ordered them to close and barricade the memorial

So, let us be clear here: the few remaining members of The Greatest Generation; the survivors of Pearl Harbor, Normandy Beach, the Battle of the Bulge, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Corregidor; the patriots who wished to pay their respects – perhaps for the last time – to their deceased brethren…. were to be denied the opportunity to do so, and threatened with arrest if they tried because the Emperor at 1600 was determined to get his way with the Congress, or else.

Never in the history of this once-great nation has such a disgraceful, petulant and venal tyrant occupied 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  Never… and that is saying quite a lot, because there have been some pretty nasty people who have sullied the hallways, rooms and beds of that building.

Forget about the fact that obama is almost certainly ineligible to serve as president, as he is not a natural born citizen, even if born in Hawaii; forget about the fact that he has “changed” the nation in ways that would have the Founders rotating in their graves and churning in their urns; forget about the fact that in but 4 ½ years, his regime has amassed more debt to be piled upon future generations of Americans than all presidents combined from George Washington to Bill Clinton.  But remember this: when aging, patriotic World War II veterans asked for the Emperor’s permission to pay their respects to their fallen brothers, he spat on them.

In 15th and 16th Century England, if the son of a king misbehaved or needed to be disciplined for some act or omission, the practice of punishing a close friend of the son – rather than the son himself, being of royal blood – was establishedThese “whipping boys” took the brunt of the prescribed punishment, corporal or otherwise, the objective being to “teach” the royal son a lesson so as to avoid repetition of the offense in the future.

Fast-forward to October 2013.  In effect, the Emperor at 1600, through his courtesans in the Office of Management and Budget, the Department of the Interior and the National Park Service, and aided and abetted by court jesters Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, are using the World War II veterans as modern-day regime whipping boys in an effort to punish those horrible Republicans in the House.  Who on earth do they think they are, trying to adhere to the checks and balances built into the Constitution?

What a disgrace.  More power to the vets.

So … if the memorial had no staff to begin with, where did the staff (obviously paid) come from? And what about the cost of the barricades? And now who pays the Park Police, who didn’t used to be there, assigned to this duty. Are they volunteers? I doubt it.

These heroic vets deserve a White House tour while in DC. McCain is not busy or useful. How about a tour for the boyz, Junny Red.
