“RETHINK YOUR STRATEGY”

September 13, 2013

The U.S. House of Representatives is tasked by the U.S. Constitution with providing funding for necessary government functions.

Dear Congressman Cantor,

I have never written to you before but I need to voice an opinion concerning what I am hearing about the “funding” of Obamacare.  I am extremely disappointed in the plan that Speaker Boehner and you are pushing in the House.  We all know that funding is the sole job of the House of Representatives.  If you and Boehner both think that passing a “Continuing Resolution” that Harry Reid and the Democrat- controlled Senate will not use to effectively fund Obamacare, you should rethink your strategy.

As a senior citizen I have seen my cost for Medicare (a forced government program) increase as well the cost of my retirement insurance due to Obamacare.  I am concerned that it will increase even more in the very near future or may even be stopped.  My whole life I had very good catastrophic health insurance that was eliminated when I turned 65 because of mandated Medicare.  I also noticed in the past that my doctor seemed to not be pleased that I am on Medicare.   What does that tell you about the effect government-mandated programs have on seniors?

Please take this message and share it with the Speaker.  Maybe it would make more sense to work on controlling the runaway immigration and the costs that illegals cause the systems we legal citizens depend upon.  Or maybe you could work on fixing the abuses of the federal bureaucracies that have managed to hit the news, like the IRS, Fast & Furious, Holder lying to Congress, Benghazi, Audit of the Federal Reserve, the over-regulation of businesses and private citizens, Congress voting itself a raise, Congress exempting itself from the laws they pass, and many more too numerous for this message.  Working on any of these, getting results would go a long way to improving the approval rating of Congress that is currently around 19%.  If I had that rating in a job, do you think that I might be fired?

Sincerely,

Lloyd Carter
