(May 29, 2013) — On May 14, putative Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress that he was not involved in the issuance of a subpoena for phone records from Associated Press reporters, although The Huffington Post reported that Holder himself was interviewed by the FBI on the matter.

Phone records from more than 20 phone lines were subpoenaed and seized without the AP’s knowledge.

On Monday, it was revealed that Holder personally approved a subpoena for access to Fox News Washington correspondent James Rosen’s emails and phone records in 2010 after telling Congress that “this is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy.”

Increasingly, left-wing writers are criticizing Holder and Obama for their inconsistencies and monitoring of journalists, citing First Amendment violations.  As a result, The Huffington Post has opined that Holder should resign.

Journalists are not called upon to render their opinion about government activity, but only to report that activity so that the public can make its own decisions as to what, if anything, should be done.

Obama has said that journalists should be able to perform their jobs without fear of reprisal or government intrusion, but his Justice Department has been secretly obtaining reporters’ emails and phone records for at least the past three years.

Holder was found in contempt of Congress last year after he said he had not known about the Fast & Furious gunrunning operation while it was carried out in 2009 and 2010.  In order to withhold documents from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Holder asked Obama to invoke executive privilege, after which Congress voted to cite Holder for contempt and then filed a lawsuit for the hidden documents.

Obama has represented a forgery for his long-form birth certificate to deceive the American public but stated that the government’s “focus must be on those who break the law.” Presenting a fraudulent government record is a felony.

A Cold Case Posse investigation has pledged to continue seeking a federal review of the forgery and has reported a recent breakthrough in that endeavor.

Obama claimed that he knew nothing of the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of “opposition” groups for tax-exempt status and learned about it from the news.  After an IRS director “apologized” for the targeting on May 10, White House senior counsel Kathryn Ruemmler told the media that she had not informed Obama about the illegal practice.

Obama promised the most transparent government after taking office in 2009.  However, questions about his legitimacy, birthplace and citizenship have never been answered, particularly in the wake of the findings of forgery in his long-form birth certificate, short-form birth certificate, Selective Service registration form and Connecticut-issued Social Security number.

Exactly two years ago, an Associated Press attorney who refused to go on the record harassed The Post & Email for reporting a question raised about one of its reporters, claiming that we “wanted Obama impeached.”  However, AP President Gary Pruitt has stated that the seizure of journalists’ phone records is “unconstitutional.”

U.S. Code §1001 states:

(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully –

…shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both…

(c) With respect to any matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch, subsection (a) shall apply only to –

….(2) any investigation or review, conducted pursuant to the authority of any committee, subcommittee, commission or office of the Congress, consistent with applicable rules of the House or Senate.

Both the foreign and domestic press have reported that Holder could be under investigation for perjury pertaining to both the Fast & Furious operation and the Justice Department’s investigation of reporters in the course of their work.

As a result of the seizing of journalists’ emails and phone records, House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte has called for Holder’s resignation.

To date, no one in Congress has called for Obama’s impeachment or removal from office despite his stand-down order following the September 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya and arming Syrian rebels with Al Qaeda members.

Obama has said that he wants to find out what happened in Benghazi, but military sources say that he knows, as only he could have given the order for Americans not to rescue other Americans in distress.
