Exactly when did Obama know that the fire of the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya was a terrorist attack? Why did his secretary of state and United Nations ambassador insist that a video was to blame?

(Oct. 16, 2012) — During this evening’s presidential debate, Obama contended that he termed the violence in Benghazi “a terrorist attack” the following day, but his remarks on September 12 indicate that he had said “an attack” several times.

When Mitt Romney repeated Obama’s claim to have labeled the occurrence “a terrorist attack,” then turned to Obama to verify that that was what Obama had said, Obama responded, “Proceed, Governor.”

In his speech on September 12, Obama mentioned his activities carried out on September 11, which included visiting wounded soldiers, prior to learning of the attack in Benghazi which killed four Americans.

When Obama was asked this evening “what happened” in regard to the attack on Benghazi and the confusion over its cause, Obama did not directly answer the question.  Instead, he said that he is responsible as President and Commander-in-Chief and that he had personally “sent” people overseas.

Last night Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she took responsibility for the four deaths in Benghazi.  The regime is no longer mentioning the video produced by two Muslims with checkered pasts which was initially blamed for the violence.

Obama made a point to say that he had to “greet the coffins” of the four dead Americans when they were brought home to Andrews Air Force Base.  At that time, on September 14, Clinton had again stated that the violence had been instigated by an anti-Islamic parody video.  United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice insisted that the video was the cause on five Sunday morning television shows on September 16.

On September 12, Obama made an oblique reference to the video by stating that “Since our Founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths and we reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.”  He then called “this attack” “brutal” and “senseless violence” and said that “Libyans helped some of our diplomats find safety.”

In an article earlier today, The Post & Email asked how Obama connected the terrorist attack in Benghazi to the video.  How did Obama even know about the existence of the then-obscure video?  Where did he obtain his information?  Who told Clinton and Rice to attribute the events in Benghazi to the video?

  1. I haven’t heard anyone ask anything about Obama’s responce last night and Biden’s last week saying that he nor the president knew anything about the attact. So how about some one asking which one is telling the truth?
