IS A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION THE ANSWER?

(Aug. 9, 2011) — I think Ronald Reagan said it best when he said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” I think we’re getting pretty darn close to those prophetic “sunset years” that he was talking about. Perhaps we’re already there?
How did things get so far out of whack? How bad is it when citizens who are truly concerned about the path their country is on are referred to as terrorists, while the term is never used when referring to those Muslims who want to kill us? The 83-page report on the Fort Hood massacre never made mention of the words “Muslim” or “terrorist!” Our political correctness is killing us! We can’t pray, we can’t say “God,” and if we don’t agree with our so-called president, we’re racists!
Well, I for one have had it! They can call me whatever they like because I no longer care or hold any respect for their warped opinions, and I no longer hold any compunction about saying exactly what’s on my mind. Liberal Progressives will never be my friend, so why should I care about hurting their feelings? We’re at war! We’re fighting for our very salvation and restoration of our country and we currently don’t occupy the high ground!
Our country is drowning in debt and the only solution our leaders have is to print more money! The radio and TV pundits keep asking why Obama doesn’t simply implement some of the same strategies used in the past by Kennedy, Reagan and even Clinton that proved to stimulate the economy and raise revenue. The pundits just don’t get it; he will never change his ways because it’s not in Obama’s ideology! In the same manner and mindset that radical Muslims believe they must kill all Christians, Obama believes he needs to kill America’s economic system so that big government can become Big Brother, cradle to grave.
So…what can WE THE PEOPLE do? Here’s my solution: We need to get all the various Tea Party groups and those groups of similar ilk to organize and push for a Constitutional Convention from within each of their States. As spelled out in Article V, the Constitution can be amended in one of two ways. First, amendments can take place by a vote of two-thirds of both the House of Representatives and the Senate followed by a ratification by three-fourths of the various states. This first method of amendment is the only one used to date. The second method is by holding a Convention called for by two-thirds of the state legislatures.
We know the division in our federal government will never allow the two sides to come together on this, so it’s up to WE THE PEOPLE. Republican governors currently hold 29 states, while the Democrats hold 20 with one Independent. We can do this! Please pass this idea around to all your email connections as well as your State legislators. Get on radio if you can; the very survival of our way of life is at stake.
