SARAH PALIN AND JOSEPH FARAH LEAD ROSTER OF SPEAKERS
News Summary by Harry Hunter
(Jan. 16, 2010) — Yesterday Chelsea Schilling, writing for the online newspaper WorldNetDaily here, reported a ticket sell-out for the first National Tea Party Convention, set for Feb. 4-6 in Nashville, Tennessee. Some tickets to the banquet, where keynote speaker Sarah Palin will speak, were said to be available. There is a waiting list of at least 300 for the convention proper, in case additional tickets become available.
“I am simply amazed at the success of this event so far,” said Judson Phillips, Tea Party Nation president and convention organizer. “When we first came up with this idea, we thought it would be something valuable and useful. But never in my wildest dreams did I ever think this would be as big as it is. We’re excited because it’s going to be a historic event.”
The event will also feature prominent speakers such as Rep. Michele Bachmann, R- Minn.; Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.; WND columnist Judge Roy Moore; Phil Valentine, popular radio talk-show host and author of “The Conservative Handbook“; and Fox News Political Analyst Angela McGlowan, among others. The Tea Party Express will also arrive in Nashville for the convention.
The Tea Party Nation (TPN) website reveals additional information about the event, to be held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, and the values espoused by its lead sponsor:
Tea Party Nation (or TPN) is a user-driven group of like-minded people who desire our God-given Individual Freedoms which were written out by the Founding Fathers. We believe in Limited Government, Free Speech, the 2nd Amendment, our Military, Secure Borders and our Country!
National Precinct Alliance will be in attendance and conducting a workshop on the importance of becoming Precinct Committee Chairs.
We would like to thank Eric Odom and American Liberty Alliance, Tea Party Emporium, The Leadership Institute and Eagle Forum for their support and Sponsorship of the Convention.
Rep. Michele Bachman will be the Breakfast Speaker Friday morning and Rep. Marsha Blackburn will be introducing Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska (2006 – 2009) and 2008 Republican Vice Presidential Nominee, Saturday evening at the Convention’s closing night banquet.
It sounds as if there is widespread enthusiasm for a patriotic powwow of people looking to dump some more tea somewhere—like maybe in the Potomac River? Additional details may be found here. It also sounds as if an overflow hall with a video feed might be needed. This is the big time, boys.
