NELSON, TO PREVENT PUBLIC FUNDING OF ABORTION, APPROVES PUBLIC FUNDING OF EUTHANASIA

by John Charlton

Honesty is a word which surrounds Obama, but never sticks to him.

(Dec. 19, 2009) — The Los Angeles Times is reporting tonight, that Nebraska Senator Bob Nelson, who was threatened by the White House with the loss of a major military installation in his state if he did not back the Health Care Reform Bill, has caved to pressure and, in the name of obtaining Reid’s approval to remove the public funding of abortion from the bill, has signed on as the 60th Senator, to pave the way for the passage of the bill in the U.S. Senate by Christmas.

The Post & Email has covered the unconstitutionality of the Health Care Bill in previous reports, and recently featured an exposé on Senator Orinn Hatch’s discussion of its faults in the U.S. Senate.

The most dangerous aspect of the Bill is not its provisions for the control of health care decisions; provisions which effectively give the government license to murder anyone in the country, on the excuse that the cost of their health care needs exceeds the value of their life.

No the most dangerous aspect of the bill is the same as the most dangerous aspect of the so called Financial Reform Bill which passed the U.S. House a week ago:  the unprecedented conveyance of power to the Executive Branch.

Barack Hussein Obama, the usurper, and an openly Marxist, American-hating, de facto dictator, will have with the passage of both bills, complete authority over the economy.

With his proven track record of corruption, egomania, and tactics of violence and intimidation, once he has this power, you can be sure he will use it against whomever he perceives as his enemy.  And from the events of the Spring, we know that is nearly all of main street America:  whom his Department of Homeland Security named as terrorist suspects.

Regarding Nelson’s surrender, Levy and Hook, writing for The Los Angeles Times report:

Until late Friday night, Democratic leaders — while outwardly optimistic — had been unsure they would be able to persuade the famously independent Nelson to come over, according to sources familiar with the talks.

They had pledged to provide additional aid to his home state to offset the cost of expanding Medicaid insurance for the poor. (Most other states have had to split that cost with the federal government).

And they promised to help shield some nonprofit insurers from a new excise tax on the industry. But for days, they could not find a way to break the abortion impasse.

Negotiations resumed in Reid’s offices just off the Senate chamber at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, after a long night that had culminated in a 1:01 a.m. vote on a defense appropriations bill.

America’s Right is reporting that the Bill will go to a vote on Christmas Eve:

Procedural votes will come at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday and 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The vote for final passage will come at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night. That’s Christmas Eve

  1. I want to share an email I sent to Traitor Nelson today, not because the email is anything special but because I promised to do everything in my power to expose his lack of character. This is one way I can live up to that promise.

“I am not one of your constituents but I am a US Citizen and have always had great respect for you but no longer. I will never refer to you as Senator Nelson again. From now you are Traitor Nelson.

Judas betrayed our Lord for 30 pieces of silver. Apparently your price was higher. What a disgrace! You think you have protected your fellow Nebraska citizens? How would your fellow Nebraskans feel if a Senator from another state traded special favors that those Nebraskans would never enjoy. The health care bill’s plan to insure about 30 million uninsured Americans includes a provision to move most of them onto Medicaid rolls. And this will be forced upon already cash strapped budgets of our states. Not Nebraska, though! You traded your vote for immunity from these unconstitutional fees for your state…forever. How does it feel to force other states to do what your state will not do? If I lived in Nebraska I would say, “I will never have my fellow American citizens carry this burden for me! I will do my share.” That is what is commonly called pulling together and doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Things like this no longer seem to matter to you or your ilk. Enjoy yourself while you still have the opportunity. Someday the Lord will return and you will be held accountable to Him for what you have done; you and the rest of your cohorts. You all are a disgrace to this proud country. What a shame and I will do everything in my power to spread the word about your lack of character. You do not deserve the respect due a Senator. You deserve the respect due a traitor. May God have mercy on your corrupt soul!”

  2. thistle, that is how a dictatorship is run!

We cannot back down and we will not back down, we must NOT support this government, it is not representing us any longer.

  3. A Nebraska doctor’s message for Ben Nelson
    By Michelle Malkin • December 20, 2009 08:59 AM

Dr. Becky Hollibaugh of Friend, Nebraska e-mailed me her message for sellout Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) this morning:

    Hello Michelle:

I’m a family practice doctor in Nebraska. I sent the following (angry,I admit) letter to Senator Nelson. I urge your readers (from Nebraska and elsewhere) to do likewise, in their own words!

    Dear Senator Nelson:

I send this message under “Tort Reform” because the current monstrosity you have pledged your support to says nothing whatsoever about Tort Reform. You have sold the physicians of Nebraska for zilch (zilch for us, but beaucoup federal bucks for you and the liberal partisans in this state). As a family practice physician in Small Town, Nebraska, I was counting on you to be the lone voice of Democratic sanity on this issue, but you sold me out. I will dedicate
every spare minute of my time and every spare dollar I have to defeating you, should you run for re-election. The long hours I spent on my medical education and the long hours I spend treating my patients are nothing but chump change to you and your Democrat colleagues in Washington. I especially can’t wait for your equivocation and milquetoast evasion when your “compromises” on the abortion language in the bill are silently erased or quietly (on-little-legislative-cat’s-feet) eviscerated in the House/Senate give-and-take. Go on: Bet me that you won’t wuss-out on this issue!

I know you won’t give two-seconds to this letter, but I had to write it. I’m a primary care doctor in YOUR state, and you sold me out. I didn’t slog through 4 years of college and 4 years of medical school and 3 years of residency just to have you hand my career and my patient/doctor relationships over to government lifers. Your gutless acquiescence to Obama and Harry Reid and ‘Nanny’ Pelosi will NOT be forgotten.

Thank you, Ben, for forcing doctors like me to earn less than the repairmen who fix our appliances. Case in point: We recently had our dishwasher fixed. The repairman who came to our house charged $65 just to come and ‘diagnose’ the problem, then charged another $180 to ‘fix’ the problem. You and your fellow lawmakers have fixed MY going rate (Medicare) at $35 per-visit. Thank you for securing such a ‘lucrative’ rate for me! Thank you so much for making me–someone with 8 years of education!–make less than a mechanic or appliance repair technichian. And thanks especially for falling in line with Obama and the rest of the Democrats to make such a socialist system permanent.

You have my disgust and disdain forever, you socialist-coddling coward.

    Sincerely,
    Becky F. Hollibaugh, D.O.

  4. We are about to lose the best health care system in the entire World with this debacle of a bill. Millions of Americans have acted against its passing, faxed, phoned or written their representatives, attended tea parties, signed petitions, contributed to organizations fighting the bill, sent over 8 million pink slips and shown up at town hall meetings to voice their disapproval, but those in office are not listening to the people. 85% of Americans are happy with their current coverage and between 61-75% are against this unconstitutional bill. Yet ‘we the people’ are being ignored. It sure feels like we are not a free country anymore and our Constitution is being shredded.
