LCDR Walter Francis Fitzpatrick, III (Ret.) was sent to state prison for three years for attempting to expose longstanding corruption in the courts to his county grand jury. Thus far, his appeals have been rejected by the Tennessee courts, which defended the hand-picking of the grand jury foreman, a phenomenon which has been ongoing for a century or more.
