“THE NEW RONALD REAGAN”

by Sharon Rondeau

Dr. Benjamin Carson will be chatting live online with registered guests at 11:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday

(Dec. 3, 2014) — A live chat with potential 2016 presidential candidate Dr. Benjamin Carson will take place at 11:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday, sponsored by faithgateway.com, a division of HarperCollins Christian Publishing.

Carson was head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore after receiving degrees from Yale and the University of Michigan Medical School.  Retiring in June of last year, he has chaired an effort to replace Obamacare with a free-market solution, “Save Our Healthcare.”

At 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Carson will speak about his upcoming book, One Nation:  What We Can All Do to Save America’s Future, at Penn’s Peak, an entertainment venue located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  The event is sponsored by the Lehighton 9/12 Project.

Over the last 18 months, Carson has recently made numerous appearances on ABC News, Fox News and other outlets.  He said on ABC’s “Roundtable” that he will make a firm decision as to whether or not to seek the presidency by May.

Carson is founder of the Carson Scholars Fund, which provides financial assistance to children to achieve their full academic potential and attend institutions of higher learning.  The organization has awarded more than 6,200 scholarships to date.

Carson was raised by a single mother with a third-grade education in inner-city Detroit who rquired her boys to prioritize their schoolwork in order to excel. At age 33, Carson became the youngest departmental director in Johns Hopkins’ history.

He is author of Gifted Hands, his autobiography; One Vote:  Make Your Voice Heard and America the Beautiful, among others.

As a guest on the Alan Colmes radio show last May, Carson said that he believes Barack Hussein Obama should make his college applications public after questioning how Obama was accepted into the Ivy League Columbia University with purportedly poor grades from Occidental College during his freshman and sophomore years.

Carson is already known as an advocate for free speech, faith, personal responsibility and has called out the media for failing to perform its constitutional duty.

After Carson spoke at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast about what he saw as the shortcomings of Obamacare with Obama and Joe Biden in close proximity, his remarks “went viral” on the web, with an editorial in The Wall Street Journal calling on him to run for president.

A book written by Richard West contends that “Ben Carson is the New Ronald Reagan.”
