I got the distinct impression that my wife didn’t want me around anymore, so I left. And I don’t think she gave me a passing thought, ever. Hard to face, believe me, but then I had PTSD so you really can’t blame her, can you? But after I cured myself of the nightmares, and the beer and smokes, it was all over. I always wanted to ask her if we could try again; I mean we had a little boy, but I figured she’d tell me to ‘take a flyin’ leap’ so I took it on the chin and kept my mouth shut. Don’t any of you make the same mistake, placing pride ahead of ‘life,’ of what’s really important.
