(Jul. 18, 2026) — Just after midnight on Saturday, the X account of the Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) announced the lifting of a suspension incepted July 9 for the alleged infraction of posting “nudity” in violation of the platform’s terms of service.
“— GOOD TO BE — FREE TO BE — THE MCRC —” the caption of a brief video showing the sequence of events leading to the reinstatement reads.
As The Post & Email reported beginning last Saturday, the account received a “locked” notice after posting an “eyes” emoji in response to a comment from Arizona State Sen. Wendy Rogers regarding President Trump’s dismissal of the entirety of the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) on July 9.
On Thursday, MCRC’s social-media manager submitted a letter to this editor describing the impact of the suspension given that Arizona’s primary elections are to be held on Tuesday, July 21.
