(Jul. 9, 2026) — In flagrant disregard for journalistic standards, a July 1, 2026 article published in the New York Post labels a woman charged in the deaths of her twin toddlers last year a “lunatic” without any evidence, possibly tainting a potential jury pool.
“Lunatic mom claimed her twins died of ‘vaccine injuries’ — now she’s charged with killing them,” reads the title of the column appearing in the category of “US News.”
Founding Father Alexander Hamilton launched the publication in 1801, then named “New-York Evening Post.”
Of the outlet, Wikipedia reports:
In the mid-20th century, the newspaper was owned by Dorothy Schiff, who developed the tabloid format that has been used since by the newspaper. In 1976, Rupert Murdoch‘s News Corp bought the Post for US$30.5 million (equivalent to $173 million in 2025).[6][7] Since its acquisition by News Corp, the Post has been frequently criticized over the years for its controversial headlines and editorial choices along with accusations of bias in its political coverage.[8]
The article cites the June 29 arrest of 23-year-old Idaho resident Andrea Shaw, whose 18-month-old fraternal twins, Dallas and Tyson, died seven days after receiving five vaccines each despite Andrea’s having told the physician’s office her husband had experienced side effects from flu vaccines.
“Influenza” was one of the vaccinations the children received, according to medical records reviewed by pulmonologist, co-founder of Independent Medical Alliance (IMA) (formerly FLCCC), founder of Leading Edge Clinic, medical researcher and author Dr. Pierre Kory.
In a summary of his findings published June 23, 2025, Kory wrote, in part:
IMPRESSION: Sudden death from severe apnea caused by recent vaccination at 18-month wellness visit. The underlying pathophysiology was likely due to micro-strokes and/or neuroinflammation in the respiratory control center in the brainstem, with micro-strokes caused by “blood sludging/clumping” from loss of zeta-potential due to the inflammatory and or hypercoagulable components of the vaccines.
The deaths occurred on the night of Day 7 post-vaccination, a time when apnea episodes spike post-vaccination as per this carefully done study from 1991.
The Shaws’ ordeal, which began on May 1, 2025, has been followed by Children’s Health Defense, a non-profit founded by current HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. The outlet’s coverage began with an interview of Shaw and her husband Nathaniel aired on May 23, 2025.
According to Andrea Shaw, the twins were born after “29 weeks and one day” of gestation by “emergency C-section.” Normal gestation is 40 weeks.
“They immediately took them to the NICU to get cleaned up and assessed,” Shaw told host Polly Tommey. “Their lungs weren’t developed; Dallas had a heart murmur, but besides that, they were just small.”
The twins each received a “HepB” vaccine, she said, but she was unsure if they were given Vitamin K injections. She took no vaccines during pregnancy, she told Tommey.
The remainder of the interview can be seen here in which the Shaws claim the police responding to their 911 call immediately treated them as suspects.
In a July 5 broadcast, Tommey and CHD General Counsel Atty. Mary Holland discussed Shaw’s arrest, a development Holland termed “insane.”
“Well, Polly, it’s a horrific situation,” she said at 3:23. “Not only is this young couple suffering the grief and profound loss of their twins, but now the mother has been arrested; she’s in jail; they have set a $2 million bond, and she’s been accused of first-degree murder. This is insane, Polly, frankly; that’s my personal view based on the facts that we have at our personal disposal today. We don’t have all the facts…”
The Post article’s author, Zoe Hussain, focuses on crime, often producing multiple articles in a day with sensational and gruesome headlines.
Comments responding to the July 1 article were largely aimed at Shaw in keeping with Hussain’s biased reporting, though some were critical of her unsubstantiated “lunatic” descriptor.
On Thursday evening, The Post & Email contacted the Post asking by what standard the article was approved for publication. We will report if and when we receive a response.
