(Jun. 17, 2026) — At the G7 summit Tuesday, President Trump announced he would give a press conference at “four o’clock” local time, or 10:00 a.m. EDT.

The “deal” negotiated with the Iranian regime has been front-and-center at the meeting of the seven largest world economies taking place Monday through Wednesday in Évian-les-Bains, France.

On Tuesday Vice President JD Vance said the Trump administration is amenable to releasing the details of the agreement “today or tomorrow,” and it remains to be seen if Trump will discuss them later this morning.

On his Truth Social account between late Tuesday and early Wednesday, Trump celebrated the numerous Republican primary winners he endorsed in Georgia, Oklahoma and Alabama but gave no hint as to the release of more information about the agreement with Iran.

Several sources have reported “leaks” of the agreement’s points but are unconfirmed by the administration.

According to Trump on Sunday, the Strait of Hormuz, over which the U.S. has maintained a “blockade” against Iranian exports and imports since April 13, will fully reopen to commerce. Approximately 20% of the global oil supply was transported through the waterway prior to Iran’s seizing of operations on March 12.

On Wednesday morning oilprice.com reported that Iran made its first oil export since the blockade was imposed “in a sign that Iran is wasting no time to take advantage of the tentative deal with the United States.”

“Following the announcement of the deal this weekend, and ahead of a formal signing ceremony expected in Switzerland on Friday, at least three Iranian crude oil tankers have exited the Strait of Hormuz and departed from the region moving past the U.S. blockade so far this week, tanker-tracking firms have said,” the article further reads.

According to one source, the price of a barrel of oil has fallen to under $76.00 as of Wednesday morning.

Gasoline prices in the U.S. appear to be reflecting the anticipated agreement.

Although revealing little of the Memorandum of Understanding said to have been electronically signed with Iran, Trump has repeatedly said it mandates Iran “will not have a nuclear weapon.”

In a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in France Wednesday morning, Trump described the agreement as “very strong.”

In response to a question about a rumored $300 billion “investment” fund reportedly allotted to Iran with the deal, Trump said the U.S. will not be contributing.

When a reporter asked if he plans to “send it [the agreement] over to Congress,” Trump said, “I never thought about it” but that he “will” do so.
