(Apr. 15, 2026) — According to “Hannity” host Sean Hannity Wednesday evening, further peace negotiations between the United States and the Iranian regime are expected to encompass Iran’s “weapons-grade uranium,” Iran’s opening of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and its devastated economy.

U.S. President Donald Trump imposed a blockade on the Strait which took effect on Monday at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The “embargo,” as White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller termed it moments later, is costing Iran $435 million daily, according to reports.

Trump “will not allow Iran to pursue or achieve nuclear weapons,” Miller told Hannity, touting the unwavering stance the president has taken against the Iranian regime.

On April 7, Trump declared a two-week ceasefire agreement had been reached between the two nations. However, on Saturday, Vice President JD Vance and two special envoys for the administration held direct talks with Iranian officials in Islamabad, Pakistan which resulted in stalemate.

On Wednesday morning, Trump announced that China, which has been arming Iran since the conflict with the U.S. and Israel arose on February 28, “agreed not to send” Iran munitions going forward.

The justification for attacking the regime, Trump has said, is that it was planning an imminent attack on Israel and nearby U.S. allies.

Trump said in a face-to-face interview this week with Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo that he believes the Iran conflict is “very close to over.”

The president is now participating in direct communications with Iranian officials, Hannity said at the opening of his program.

The administration has not confirmed a date for formal talks to resume.
