(Nov. 12, 2025) — On Tuesday, retired educator, historian, trusted art-seller, author, columnist and P&E reader Johannes Froebel-Parker informed us Facebook had prohibited him from posting a link to an article about a 19th-century Christian cathedral in Moscow destroyed by the Soviets in 1931.
As readers may recall, late last year Froebel-Parker’s two X accounts were suspended for no apparent reason and separately reinstated without explanation, though with his expressed gratitude.
Froebel-Parker’s recent email to us stated:
FB would NOT let me post with his link: https://www.gw2ru.com/arts/3110-cathedral-christ-savior-moscow as it goes “against their Community Guidelines” but they allowed me to PETITION for it to be eventually allowed. This DID allow me to stand up for Christianity and explain the role of Bolshevism in trying to wrest faith from the people and that this story, was in effect, a GIFT TO HUMANITY and to the FAITH! We shall see! Ridiculous but prolly the FB big wigs are all PRO ZELENSKY (my humble opinion!) More soon! I did post almost the same think on X and no problem…yet!
Dated December 5, 2023 by Anna Popova, the article whose link Froebel-Parker attempted to share contains stunningly detailed photos of the architecture and frescoes comprising the interior of the cathedral as well as the fate of the few artifacts preserved just prior to the Soviets’ detonation of it.
Of the original cathedral, Wikipedia reports:
The demolition was supposed to make way for a colossal Palace of the Soviets to house the country’s legislature, the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Construction started in 1937 but was halted in 1941 when Germany invaded the Soviet Union during World War II. Its steel frame was disassembled the following year, and the palace was never built. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the current cathedral was constructed on the site between 1995 and 2000.
Froebel-Parker’s subject posts on X provide the same article link and are punctuated with the question, “Is the triumph of #Christianity over atheistic #Communism something to be ashamed of? An appeal has been submitted, but a very Bolshevik Compliant moment on that particular platform.”

Previous reports of censorship from P&E readers and others were perpetrated by Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, members of Congress, search engine Google and the federal government’s executive branch. Truth Social has also been accused of censorship and/or limiting account access without explanation and did not respond to this writer’s inquiries.

Jesus is one king which will never be deposed and whose kingdom is eternal. He is impervious to executive decisions made on social platforms.
