(Sep. 13, 2025) — First of all, I have to say that I do “know my place” in the world. It amounts to very, very little compared to that of many of you and, especially this day, and forever, compared to Charlie Kirk. However, I am a U.S. citizen, and I have been privileged on occasion to exercise my First Amendment rights. Now, in what likely will be one of my last attempts to “make a difference,” I would like to say something about the terrible matter which is making me sick and weighing heavily on my mind, to wit, the assassination three days ago of one of our country’s greatest patriots and Christians, Charlie Kirk.
In my humble and in a sense unprofessional opinion, what happened was not in the purest sense a politically motivated crime. It also had very little or nothing to do with race, religion, social media, or even conservative versus liberal (“left” versus “right”). Instead, Charlie’s murder was the work of EVIL. What else could possibly have caused this otherwise nondescript young man to commit such a heinous crime? Frankly, I am inclined to believe that others, too, may have been involved, but even if that turns out to be true, the “kill shot” was fired by a madman embodied by an evil spirit. True enough, this madman did not just suddenly, out of nowhere become an anti-Christ or satanic figure. It was a process. The suspect was weak-willed and knowingly or otherwise finally surrendered himself to his DEMONS.
NOW, HE MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HIS SACRILEGE.
Please pardon me as I now am going to mention something which most of you will see as being completely irrelevant and unrelated to the present matter. In a sense, you are right. Nevertheless, what I am about to tell you, in some strange and unexpected way, may be informative and useful. If not, I sincerely apologize. It is the fact that I cannot help but remember another madman possessed by evil who committed murder (under different circumstances) in the same state approximately fifty years ago. There is an award-winning movie directed by Lawrence Schiller, which was released in 1982 and is titled “Executioner’s Song.”
GOD BLESS CHARLIE KIRK, HIS FAMILY, HIS FRIENDS, AND ALL OF US WHO ARE GRIEVING OUR COUNTRY’S LOSS. For what it’s worth, I beg everyone who reads this writing to be introspective and peaceful in Charlie’s memory. Charlie would want it that way.

Above-mentioned movie “Irrelevant?” Probably. My wife says so. However, once again, I ask you to forgive me. Keep the focus and prayers on for CHARLIE KIRK AND HIS FAMILY. Now, with some hesitancy, allow me anyway to speak freely and tell you why I see a bit of “relevance” in these two cases. The murders (two of the three total murders committed by them) took place in Orem, Utah. Both killers had unusually high IQs. Both had “talents” which some would call “better than most” (one a highly skilled artist, and one a highly skilled gunman with a rifle and other lethal weapons). Both had lovers whom they obsessed over. One pleaded for the death penalty to be imposed on him (and, it was), while the other reportedly confessed, said that he wanted to kill himself, and allowed family to turn him in to police (but then, from what I’ve heard, cowardly reneged on everything ). BOTH HAD CONSCIOUSLY OR OTHERWISE BECOME POSSESSED BY EVIL.
Go Rest High On That Mountain (with final verse)
No. Charlie would want the perp punished off this earth. Then and only then would his family left behind be safe.
