(Jul. 12, 2025) — Early Saturday evening, President Trump defended his attorney general, Pam Bondi, in the wake of criticism from both sides of the political aisle over her handling of what many believed to be additional existing documents associated with the late Jeffrey Epstein.
In 2008, Epstein was convicted of sexual exploitation of underage young women, serving a modified jail sentence viewed by many as overly lenient.
In 2019, Epstein was again arrested on related crimes. On August 10 that year, he was found deceased in his cell in the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where he was being held until trial.
On Monday, the Justice Department released an unsigned, undated memo indicating, contrary to assertions Bondi had appeared to make previously, that no additional documents relating to Epstein, particularly a long-anticipated “client list,” would be made public.
On February 27, after completing a “review,” Justice released ten tranches of documents associated with Epstein which were termed the “first phase of declassified Epstein files.” No other releases were forthcoming, and Monday’s announcement that there would be no more took many observers by surprise and engendered accusations of a lack of the “transparency” Bondi promised would be the hallmark of the Trump Justice Department.
At 5:21 p.m., Trump took umbrage with those critical of Bondi, terming them “selfish.”
He also asserted, perhaps for the first time, that “the Epstein Files” were “created” by “Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration” similar to other scandals and false narratives permeating politics in Washington, DC.
Those include, Trump said, the Steele Dossier, which alleged the 2016 Trump campaign was aligned with the Russian government to tip the election in his favor, and “THE LAPTOP FROM HELL,” signifying the FBI and media cover-up of the Hunter Biden laptop story broken by the New York Post on October 14, 2020.
Trump also said Bondi is investigating “The Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020,” which he has always claimed he won over Joe Biden.
After reportedly sweeping the “swing” states and garnering more than 80 million votes, Biden took office on January 20, 2021. He ultimately chose not to seek re-election following a fateful debate rematch with Trump on June 27, 2024.
On Friday speculation swirled as to whether FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino will resign given a report from Semafor claiming he and Bondi had a strident disagreement over her handling of the Epstein documents. Reportedly, FBI Director Kash Patel also threatened to resign if Bondi failed to do so.
“Kash Patel, and the FBI, must be focused on investigating Voter Fraud, Political Corruption, ActBlue, The Rigged and Stolen Election of 2020, and arresting Thugs and Criminals, instead of spending month after month looking at nothing but the same old, Radical Left inspired Documents on Jeffrey Epstein,” Trump further wrote.

I think Trump’s instincts are to protect his team as his Truth Social comments demonstrate. What I and those who have followed the past administrations see is investigation after investigation with results that have produced zero prosecutions or anyone being held accountable. Just more and more speculations from the apparent lack thereof. My lying eyes are deceiving me again and again as I seem to see facts that are as plain as the nose on my face. My question is; why am I so blind and am I alone?
