(May 15, 2025) — In breaking news at 7:00 p.m. EDT on “The Ingraham Angle” Thursday, host Laura Ingraham reported a post on former FBI Director James Comey’s X account bearing four digits and the remark, “cool shell formation on my beach walk” to have been a “threat” against 47th President Donald J. Trump.
Early in his first term, Trump fired Comey, who it turned out presided over an FBI some of whose senior members were seeking to prevent Trump from winning the presidency and, upon failing at that, launched a criminal investigation against his 2016 campaign on the false premise certain individuals had “colluded” with the Russian government to achieve victory.
According to Fox News journalist Peter Doocey speaking to Ingraham, the first two digits in Comey’s tweet, “86,” signify to many an intent to do away with someone. The second two, “47,” are self-explanatory.
“James Comey Makes Threatening Post Against Trump,” Fox displayed on the chyron as Ingraham’s show unfolded.
For his part, Comey later tweeted that he “took the post down” after believing the “shell formation” he said he saw on the beach was a “political” statement but later learned it was something more sinister.
The “explanatory” post can be found on Comey’s Instagram account.
Trump is out of the country finishing a four-day trip to the Middle East, expected to return to the U.S. on Friday.
At approximately 7:11 p.m., Fox News contributor Mollie Hemingway, who also is editor of The Federalist, opined that Comey was aware of the meaning of the “8647” post.
Subsequently FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X that he contacted the Secret Service about Comey’s tweet and will provide any necessary support to that agency.
In his retirement Comey turned to writing “crime novels,” with his latest available on May 20 as depicted on his X timeline. His bio states:
Since graduating from the College of William and Mary in 1982 and the University of Chicago Law School in 1985, James Comey has been a prosecutor, defense lawyer, general counsel, teacher, writer, and leader. He most recently served in government as Director of the FBI. His second book, “Saving Justice: Truth, Transparency, and Trust,” also a New York Times best-seller, was published in 2021.
On TruthSocial, a new media initiative of the Trump Organization approximately three years ago, White House-credentialed citizen journalist “DC Draino,” who is an attorney, remarked Comey’s tweet was intentional.
Does anyone believe that James Comey randomly “found” these shells?

And he did it while President Trump was overseas in somewhat hostile territory
This was a direct call for political violence & he must be arrested
