(Apr. 1, 2025) — In an interview Tuesday with the co-hosts of Fox News’s “The Five” at 5:00 p.m. EDT, entrepreneur Elon Musk told Judge Jeanine Pirro “arrests” are expected imminently resulting from his team’s investigation of waste, fraud and abuse throughout numerous government departments and agencies since Donald Trump took office on January 20.
The public face of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) coined by then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and Musk himself, Musk has reported discovering “billions” of dollars spent on empty contracts, unused government-issued grants and credit cards, fraud, and an inefficient system mired in outdated practices.
An entrepreneur from an early age, Musk is a co-founder of “X,” later purchased by eBay and renamed “Paypal.” He is founder and CEO of the Boring Company and SpaceX, which on March 18 rescued two American astronauts stranded at the International Space Station for nine months on what had been an eight-day journey.
Musk is a also major investor in Neuralink, a company striving to restore lost abilities in people with spinal-cord injuries. He remains CTO of X Corp, which encompassed social-media platform “X” until Friday, when Musk sold it to his AI spinoff company, xAI.
Judge Jeanine Pirro opened the segment by noting recent acts of destruction aimed to harm Musk financially. She went on to describe Musk’s recent campaigning in Wisconsin for Republican Brad Schimel, a candidate for the open seat on the state’s supreme court.
In Wisconsin, judges are elected by the people rather than nominated by the governor.
“Why is this race in Wisconsin so important, and what is your response to Democrats who’ve tried to make tonight’s elections a referendum on you?” Pirro first asked.
“The reason tonight’s elections are so important is that the judge race will decide whether the Wisconsin district redrawn – they’re kind-of try [sic] to gerrymander Wisconsin to remove two Republican seats. As you know, the House is currently Republican by a razor-thin margin, which means that losing this judge race has a good chance of causing Republicans to lose control of the House. If you lose control of the House, there’ll be non-stop impeachment hearings; there’ll be nonstop hearings and subpoenas…they’re going to do everything possible to stop the agenda that the American people voted for…”
The current Wisconsin Supreme Court currently comprises an ideological distribution of four vs. three. With the exception of the chief justice, justices are popularly elected to a ten-year term in “nonpartisan elections.”
“It’s a very tight race…this could be decided by a single voter, potentially,” Musk said. “That’s how close it is…”
Another issue on the ballot, Musk said, is whether to require voter ID in future elections by amending the state constitution. To Pirro, Musk called the measure “essential for election integrity.”
Musk stressed Wisconsin voters may both register and vote Tuesday until 8:00 p.m. (central time).
Greg Gutfeld then lightheartedly asked Musk when he would appear on his 10:00 p.m. show and how young people facing “fear” should handle their fears.
“Look at it directly, and it will be gone,” Musk responded.
When it was Jesse Watters’s turn to speak, he asked Musk about the “massive Social Security fraud and that arrests were imminent. What can you tell us about that, and what can you tell us about what you’ve seen politicians do to make massive amounts of money off of the federal government, like Nancy Pelosi?
“…It’s such a long list,” Musk responded. “You have to actually prioritize the list; we convey the list to the Department of Justice; the DOJ has a process that they go through to review and think about it. The wheels of justice turn slowly. In fact, obviously I have a maniacal sense of urgency, so to me, when I see that a terrible fraud has happened, I’m like, ‘Why haven’t we arrested already?'”
“I think probably the person that stole 400,000 Social Security numbers — at least, maybe more — will be arrested, and hopefully this week,” he said.
Earlier at a campaign stop in Wisconsin, Musk said the responsible individual could be arrested as soon as “tomorrow.”
Regarding what he called “fake NGOs,” which he described as “fake charities” “overwhelmingly” aligned with “Democrats,” Musk said, which he deemed a “giant money-laundering scheme.”
In fact, Musk said, “NGO” and “money-laundering are almost synonymous.”
Following Watters, “Kennedy” asked Musk about “some of the anti-Tesla violence,” to which he replied immediately, “It’s unbelievable.”
Kennedy further made the case that Tesla had once been to the political left “a technological dream come true,” in contrast to the destruction presumed leftists are now carrying out against Tesla dealers and owners.
Over the last 1-2 days, activists have been videoed smashing toy cars on the sidewalk as well as carving swastikas on parked Teslas and setting them on fire.
“This is fundamentally a case of terrorism,” he said. The “foot soldiers” conducting the violence, he said, are being directed by organizers he termed “the generals” who he said must be brought to account.
“Do you know who those ‘generals’ are?” Kennedy asked, to which Musk said without hesitation, “We know; we do.”
“Hopefully the prosecution will be for RICO and an organized criminal enterprise, which makes the penalty more serious,” Pirro rejoined.
“These are serious crimes where the organizers and pushers of mass violence will go to prison for a very long time,” Musk said, “and I hope they see this segment.” He remained serious even as the co-hosts exchanged a brief laugh.
To date, the U.S. Justice Department has announced a handful of arrests in connection with Tesla-related destruction and violence, which Attorney General Pam Bondi said includes “firebombing.”
At least one defendant is facing state and federal charges.
