(Mar. 22, 2025) — There once was a bat named Cecil,
As his name implied, didn’t see well.
But his heart was as big as the moon in the sky,
And a song in his mouth kept his spirits up high.
Oh, Cecil, Cecil, with a love for mankind.
Cecil, Cecil, who’s to say that you’re blind?
For it’s in the dark that you see with your heart,
That we’re all the same, to the end from the start.
Oh, Cecil, Cecil, with a song to give each child.
Cecil, Cecil, stay always free and wild.
For, if I could, I would fly with you,
To discover lands both old and new.
