(Mar. 17, 2025) — On his first Rumble broadcast after assuming the mantle of former broadcaster Dan Bongino, WMAL radio personality Vince Coglianese hosted Tucker Carlson, a formidable podcaster and entrepreneur in his own right after leaving the Fox News Channel nearly two years ago.
The show begins at 10:00 a.m. ET instead of Bongino’s 11:00 a.m. time.
Coglianese began writing at Daily Caller, a news site founded by Carlson, in 2010. In 2017, he was promoted to the paper’s editorial director and became a co-host of “Mornings on the Mall” on WMAL.
He later was given his own “afternoon drive” show from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the same station.
Along with Bongino’s replacement on Rumble, Coglianese will also host “The VINCE Show” on Westwood One during Bongino’s former afternoon spot from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Bongino began his position as FBI deputy director Monday morning after issuing a tearful goodbye to his Rumble and Westwood One audiences.
The new show, titled simply “Vince,” is broadcast under the “Silverloch Media” umbrella, a company led by Bongino’s wife, Paula.
Rather than sitting at a desk as Bongino did, Coglianese was seated in a casual chair with Carlson opposite him, during which they discussed Bongino’s new assignment, the sacrifices he made to accept it, and the noted shortcomings of the FBI over the last several years.
The camera switched to individual shots, split screens and illustrative images to support the subjects under discussion.
The two discussed “declassification” of government documents, including those associated with the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the 9-11 attacks, the withholding of which Carlson opined have given rise to “conspiracy theories.”
He said he would like to see all the 9-11 documents released immediately. “Every time I bring this up, everyone becomes uncomfortable,” he told Coglianese. “Don’t give me the lecture about protecting me,” he said of both the government and the media.
Many of Bongino’s listeners, which he termed “the Bongino army,” offered Coglianese a warm welcome in the comments and live chat. Some said they were giving the new host a trial run.
Evita Duffy Alfonso, the daughter of Transportation Secretary and former congressman Sean Duffy and “Fox & Friends” weekend co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy, hosts an earlier show each morning on Silverloch.
On Friday, on its “news blog” the FBI acknowledged Bongino’s anticipated arrival after reporting the swearing-in of its new director, Kash Patel, on February 21.
During the ceremony in Washington, D.C., Director Patel pledged to use “rigorous constitutional oversight” to ensure accountability at the Bureau and beyond. “Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of,” he wrote in a social media statement following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate the day before.

And this week, President Donald Trump announced that he’d selected Dan Bongino to serve as the Bureau’s next deputy director. Patel praised the nomination in a February 24 social media statement, calling Bongino “a warrior and lifelong public servant.”
“Dan has dedicated his career to protecting this country, beginning with his time in the NYPD [New York Police Department], where he served in one of the toughest precincts, the 75th, before spending more than a decade as a special agent in the United States Secret Service,” Patel wrote. “His leadership, integrity, and deep commitment to justice make him the ideal choice to help lead the FBI at this critical time.”
