(Mar. 1, 2025) — What happened Friday the 28th was unique in the annals of US history, allowing the press to film part of an international negotiation. Most Americans would typically see that as a good-faith act by a President who is loathed by half the voters to be as transparent as possible, something we never saw from the preceding administration. Trump trusted Zelensky’s word that he was arriving to sign what had been agreed upon. That was Trump’s mistake…
Zelensky has bought into the whole “Churchill reincarnated” schtick cemented by a sycophant media and with Biden’s help, solidified Zelensky’s delusion by showering him with $350 billion of American taxpayers’ money of which he can’t account for half. He was so convinced of his prowess that he figured he could play Trump. However, as soon as Zelensky tipped his hand, Trump had two choices: allow Z to humiliate him and the country on worldwide TV or call him on it right there and then!
Once Z knew he was caught, he could have shown a little common sense and humility but chose rather to go toe-to-toe and escalate it publicly. Unfortunately half the nation has chosen to back Z, a classic example of the axiom, “biting your nose to spite your face.”
The one line Vance uttered to him that all the Trump-haters missed was, “You disrespect this President and the American people by litigating this in front of the cameras” (paraphrased). Trump had only made the meeting public because Zelensky told him he would be there to sign a done deal and then decided to play Trump – publicly. He forgot two cardinal rules:
Rule #1: Know thyself
Rule #2: Know thy enemy
But the saddest element of this entire episode is that some people harbor so much hate for Trump they would as soon subjugate their country to Zelensky than see Trump win one for the country.
Truly sad.
Epilogue: Zelensky had hardly driven away from the White House before calling the White House and asking for a redo which is both an acknowledgment of guilt and the fear of losing his nation. Zelensky’s attempted hijacking is understandable only because of the stress he is under, watching his nation being destroyed and losing the support of Ukrainians.
But what of Americans seething with so much hate they would readily accept a national black eye in exchange for humiliating the President?
You can choose to hate Trump; you have free will, but when you allow that hatred to diminish your country, that is pathological.

People forget what Trump did to aggressive and blustery Taliban leadership during a negotiation. You can either leave the room and leave them stunned (as he did), or you can tell everyone it has gone off the rails and the proceedings are over: there’s the door.
I see Starmer gave him today a whopping 3B pounds. Z is shopping in the discount (Europe) aisle and getting a face-saving pittance.
