The Götterdämmerung of the Democratic Party

(Feb. 4, 2025) — Where would we be without all those cool but harsh-sounding German expressions? English sometimes just doesn’t do the job of expressing strong feelings, especially how the overwhelming majority of Americans have been rejoicing since their shared victory with President Trump and the Republican Party on November 5.

Just as important, the Democratic Party has literally committed political suicide as all they seem to be able to do since then is rearrange the deck chairs of their HMS Titanic. They have learned nothing and are doomed to repeat their failures as they double down on their misguided beliefs. All they stand for is that they hate President Trump.

“Götterdämmerung” literally means “The Twilight of the Gods.” In this context, it means the collapse and downfall of the Democratic Party marked by their increasing disorder and irrelevance. For decades, Democrats were the Gods living in Valhalla who ruled over the peasants as they led America to an unreachable Paradise. They are now like Mad King George, where any disagreement against the Party now leads to condemnation, accusations of conspiracy and reprisals which can cause the loss of livelihood, social stature and even imprisonment in the festering gulags inside our Nation’s capital.

This all changed on November 5 when their hubris had grown out of control and was finally exposed. In their myopia, ordinary people were seen as fascists, racists, sexists, misogynists, you-name-it-ists, and all of these recidivists without exception were led by the Evil Orange Hitler. Because of the inability to understand why they lost, the fallen Democratic Party is indeed living in the Twilight of the Gods.

The Democratic Party is the Barney Fife of Parties. Their single bullet is that they hate President Trump. The Democratic Party has been unfairly called the “party of the people” for decades but this moniker has always been a lie. Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer are cast members of “Opposite Day” where the Truth is always exactly the opposite of their words and proclamations. This was never more clear as advanced dementia metastasized inside Joe Biden’s lack of a brain. Dementia must be a new communicable, pathological disease as the Democratic Party has caught it.

Last weekend, the Democratic National Committee met and demonstrated advanced incompetence. Ken Martin was elected the DNC chair. He is a Radical Extremist who had previously headed the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), an extremist organization closely aligned with Tim Walz. David Hogg was voted DNC Vice Chair or Vice Soyboy in charge of gun confiscation. He is only 24 years old and has virtually no life nor political experience. Malcolm Kenyatta was another Leftist voted to the DNC Vice Chair, and his claim to fame is that he hates President Trump. The DNC multi-gender extravaganza vote-a-thon rules require an advanced degree in doubleplusgood quack thinking. Democrats then did some kind of Macarena dance to close the meeting. Democrats continue to be unmasked and unrepentant and are now living in the Valley of Irrelevance.

There is a mean streak in the Democratic Party which is beginning to border on violence. Hakeem Jeffries has vowed to fight President Trump’s agenda “in the streets” which is a call to violence. Earlier, Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) threatened violence against two Supreme Court Justices on the steps of the Supreme Court and bellowed: “I want to tell you, Gorsuch; I want to tell you, Kavanaugh: You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions!”

Just yesterday, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass ordered her police to stand down while protestors took over the 101 while burning the American Flag and proudly waving the Mexican Flag. Well, excuuuussse me for having an opinion that is different from yours.

Our friend, the German language, has another word for how most Americans feel about the oncoming irrelevance and demise of the Democratic Party: schadenfreude. The English equivalence is epicaricacy, but schadenfreude sounds so much better. Wikipedia defines Schadenfreude as the experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, pain, suffering, of another. It is a compound of Schaden (“damage/harm”) and Freude (“joy”). Schadenfreude is the feeling one gets when some knucklehead on the freeway weaves in and out of traffic tailgating everyone in sight only to be pulled over by the police and ticketed a mile later for driving like a madman.

So goes the Democratic Party the way of the extinct Whig and Bull Moose Parties. Now is the perfect time to re-register Democrats into the Republican Party. Americans simply don’t like to be told what to do and President Trump wants every American to have the chance to succeed and experience well-being. A little schadenfreude goes a long way right now as we get back to work.
