Invasion of the Hope Bringers

Last weekend, Laurie and I donned our Youth Suits and attended Charlie Kirk’s AmericaFest 2024 Convention in Phoenix. It was sponsored by Turning Point USA, founded by Mr. Kirk, and well over 14,000 tickets were sold.  The four-day event was swamped with mostly young people who have attended previous AmericaFests. It was exciting to see their motivations.

One cannot help but get the feeling that the American pendulum is swinging back to the Right. January 6 is a distant memory of government repression and has been replaced by the hope and promise of November 5. There is a growing sense of optimism that our out-of-control, bloated federal government will be pared back to its original intent of the United States Constitution: building roads and making the baddest a** army in the world to protect us.

There were upwards of fifty speakers in the filled auditorium that was so large that the speakers on the podium looked like ants. Luckily, there were multiple giant screens to watch the presentations up close. Here are a few of the notable speakers: Riley Gaines; General Flynn; Harmeet Dhillon; James O’Keefe; Congresswoman Lauren Boebert; Attorney General Ken Paxton; Congressmen Byron Donalds, Eli Crane and Andy Biggs; Tucker Carlson; Steve Bannon; Dr. Ben Carson; Matt Walsh; and Donald Trump Jr. And more!

There was no way to be prepared for what was to come Sunday morning, especially if you have never been to a Trump rally. By 8:00 AM, the line had already grown to three city blocks and the positive energy was almost overwhelming. The Secret Service must have learned a lesson from their failures this summer as their handling of this huge crowd was commendable. The line moved astonishingly quickly as every person went through a scanner and scoundrels like myself were even patted down. Once inside, an equally large line waited for entrance into the auditorium but the four of us found seats. We were the lucky ones as 6,000-7,000 people never made it inside and watched the external televisions in the street.

Prepare for liftoff!  Comedian Rob Schneider gave a rousing 15-minute Conservative monologue followed by Tom Homan who is going to clean up the invasion of the army of Illegal Aliens composed of Terrorists, Gangs, Murderers, Child Rapists and mostly military- aged single men. Mr. Homan is not to be messed with. Senator Ted Cruz gave an inspirational speech and then, PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP! The place exploded with 14,000 people doing the Trump Dance. The excitement was palpable as unexpected tears ran down our faces knowing that America is emerging from the nightmare of the past four years. President Trump has never looked better. He was relaxed, calm, spiritual from surviving an assassination attempt where the bullet missed his brain by millimeters. He was a resolute voice of experience not to repeat the mistakes of his first administration. America is no longer derailed where business will grow to provide tax revenues to reduce our crushing deficit. Wokeism will be clonked on the head like a Three Stooges movie. The military will become strong again to make China, Russia and Iran think twice about their current shenanigans.

After a rousing speech, it was on to the YMCA closing with a hundred lasers and then suddenly it was over. Looking around, we could see America’s future, which was thousands of highly motivated young people ready to MAGA-size our country.

America is home again.
