(Nov. 11, 2024) — Beginning on Sunday and continuing through Monday evening, a conversation on “X” is taking place as to who Trump should appoint to be his press secretary after he takes office at noon on January 20, 2025.

Some commenters are supporting former NBC News and Fox News host and current podcaster Megyn Kelly; others believe Fox’s Peter Doocy to be in the running. Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake, who on Monday was reported defeated in her contest, was another suggestion, while longtime broadcaster Alex Jones and public relations executive Melissa Rein Lively were also suggested.

Trump’s last press secretary in his first term, Fox News “Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany, also received support in the “X” thread.

Earlier Monday Trump announced former ICE Acting Director Tom Homan will be his “border czar” entrusted with deportations of illegal aliens and securing the nation’s borders, including the security of the nation’s water and air spaces.

Homan, who has worked under six presidents, supports the deportation of “public safety” and “national security threats,” he told “Hannity” host Sean Hannity during a 9:30 p.m. interview Monday. Others who entered the country illegally but did not necessarily commit a crime, Homan said, “are not off the table.”

“ICE is going to do their job,” he further said. “The removal of criminal aliens is down 74%” in the Biden administration, he said. “We’re going to do our job…so get used to it, ’cause we’re comin’.”

Illegal aliens who are “not criminals” can “self-report,” Homan said, and can “find their way home.” He will also provide “a free airplane ticket” as an alternative, he said.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY21) is Trump’s choice for ambassador to the United Nations, and America First Legal (AFL) founder and former White House adviser Stephen Miller will serve as deputy chief of staff for policy.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL6) will serve as Trump’s national security adviser, Fox and other sources reported Monday evening.

Former U.S. Congressman from New York Lee Zeldin, who unsuccessfully ran for the state’s governor in 2022, has been chosen to be EPA administrator, Trump also announced on TruthSocial.

Trump’s first announcement following last Tuesday’s election is that his 2024 campaign manager and former lobbyist, Susie Wiles, will serve as his chief of staff.

At 8:43 p.m. EST, Fox host Jesse Watters announced Trump has selected U.S. Senator from Florida Marco Rubio to be his secretary of state, which, just as with the post of UN ambassador and other “cabinet” positions, will require Senate confirmation.

In an interview with Hannity, Trump’s son Eric deferred to his father to confirm the nomination.

The national security adviser, policy adviser and chief of staff posts do not require Senate confirmation.
